Despair Before Fear

It’s necessary to make them believe their votes still matter, that their taxes are being used wisely and to their benefit, that those who are in places of authority are humble men whose only desire is to serve those that placed them there.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)

Fear my friends is never the initial response sought after by evil men, subtlety never operates in such a straightforward fashion. Despair must come first, for those who begin to lose hope nearly always look for someone to save them from that despair.

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” (John 14:20)

Nothing changes but the faces on the stage.

Satan caused doubts to arrive in our first parents, he revealed a want they did not know existed, and when they knew that want, they despaired for it. They knew loss before they sinned. Loss of something they believed would be gain in their lives.

That verse that you read here so often from the Book of Job, “And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” (2:4) is not the beginning of the path, but the completion of it, no man will give all he has for his life when he begins to feel that despair, he will search for a way out of it, he will look to others to lead him to a better place, one that will lead him to a place in his life where despair is not followed by an increasing anxiety, where trepidation is not the daily path, where he does not need to spend nearly every waking hour attempting to abate the fear he believes is approaching.

Giving all one has for their life is never the immediate response, but for most on this planet that is what will happen. If you want to show a man the futility of his life here, reveal the truth to him that he is going to die.

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” (2nd Peter 1:19)

The responsibility of those in positions of authority is to serve those under their authority, but mankind has learned that the best tasting wine is power over people, and so by the implied possibility of approaching fear, they have taught the weak to first despair, and along that path to fear, where they will give all they have for their life, they have taught them to trust those who are their persecutors.

For where else can they turn to?

“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68)

My friends, this is one of the reasons the Word of God calls them brute beasts, why it refers to them as silly women, as the waves of the sea, it is why they call the preaching of the cross foolishness, and us fools when we reveal these truths to them.

When you speak these truths to them, they will hate you, and we expect that.

At the hands of their enemies they hope to find peace, and the truth of 2nd Timothy 3:13 becomes the reality of our day.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

We search daily for the lost amongst the wicked, and the wicked will do all they can to thwart our efforts. Conspiracy theories, misinformation, these are the newest names for the truth, and it is being done intentionally by those who thirst for power, who know despair is the beginning of the path that leads to the willingness of many to give all they have for their lives.

Fear has yet to arrive my friends, but it is approaching, and the Almighty is bringing it.

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” (Matt. 24:22)

How can one who believes the promises, who knows that their Redeemer lives, that has tasted and seen that He is good ever fear, much less entertain a moment of despair?

Keep searching for the lost, they are out there. Teach them these truths.
