Whose Laws?

“We are doing this for your own good, for your safety.”

Desire, enticements, wants, pleasures, if there is purposeful intent to obtain something, those in authority will find a way to make a mandate, to make a law, to inhibit that desire, but they have lost their way. From what could be considered good intentions, to moral constructs, attempting to dissuade the masses from seeking those items that may infringe upon the rights of some of the general population.

The unrepentant sinners, the wicked in high places are usurping the commandment of the Living God.

“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” (Exo. 20:17)

When laws are set in place to enforce the ideologies of what moral correctness is to be, then what can be called “the state” has attempted to take the place of Romans 1:20.

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

And each time this is done, it corrupts the Word and will of God, for wicked men seek power over people.

It is one thing to mandate that a person must cross at the crosswalk, and then only when the appropriate signal is given, it is quite another thing to tell that man what he can do in his own home, to regulate where and when he can pray, the words that he is allowed to speak to others, the ability to express his opinions, what the truth is.

Where he is free, and where he is not free.

“For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.” (Mark 7:8)

The penalties for disobedience begin with reprimands, moves to financial loss, and then to the loss of one’s personal freedoms, and in time Revelation 12:11 will become a reality.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

All accomplished slowly and with subtle, evil intent, with the banner of “This is for your own good, for your safety.”

The common man will of course adhere to these mandates, these laws, for he serves himself, and the fear of personal retributions exceed his desire to remain one with free will, his mind, his thoughts will be the only free place where he will be able to find refuge. And all that do so will fulfill Job 2:4.

“Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.”

We who have been born-again are on a different path, we are aware that the moral laws and mandates set by wicked men are not meant for the safety and security of all, but to place the masses in bondage, to replace the Word and will of the Almighty with their own constructs of what is right and what is wrong. A thousand examples can be offered here, but if you are seeking the face of God, you have been able to recognize them quite easily over the last months and years.

You must present this question to yourself then, which of the laws of men will I obey, and which will I disobey? Who will you fear, man or God?

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” (Heb. 10:38)

When to take up the sword and when to submit, when to be on our knees, and when to stand.

Men and women of God over the ages have died in open rebellion to the state, to the will of evil men who would be their ultimate masters, who began their lust for power with the words, “It is for your own good, and the good and safety of all.”

From dying by stoning, to burning at the stake, to being beheaded, they have stood, they died with their armor on.

The mind that serves Christ must, by the power and mercies of the Holy Spirit, overpower the flesh that fears, the one who serves the Most High is expected to do no less.

Open rebellion against those who would change us, who would supersede their will for the will of God is standing for the Lord, where you stand shows who you serve.
