“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” (Matt. 6:25) Have you noticed how many poor people there seems to have been in the days our Lord walked this earth? Perhaps it was no more or less proportional than there ever has been, but to have five thousand people in one group who either did not have the forethought to bring along some food, or did not have the wherewithal to do so, seems to say that many were not just poor, they were basically destitute of even daily needs. But in relation to the context of these verses, I ask you this. When was the last time you can recall that you were not only

Faith Must Prevail
Only the events necessary for salvation, those accounts that reveal the glory and majesty of the Living God, that reveal clearly His design for mankind and the path we are to walk. What is required of us, what is commanded of us, as well as the desire of the Almighty for every soul that belongs to Him. How the acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ leads to eternal life, and the denial of Him leads to eternal death and damnation. Everything that we need to know about God is found in His Holy Word. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2nd Tim. 3:16) Not everything in His book though makes sense to us, some of it seems downright foolish and against all reason, and that human reasoning my friends is the mortal enemy. Faith, the

That First Light
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” (Gen. 1:3) I have yet to read or hear a good explanation of just what that light was that is spoken of in that verse, The sun, which is by definition, is our only source of natural light, besides the stars, which really do not afford enough light to do much by at night, had yet to be created. The Almighty separated the dark from the light, but that still does not tell us just what that light was. I have heard some say John 8:12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” was, in a fashion that really makes no sense to me at all, that light was, and still is, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Sink, Swim, Or Trust
I could be mistaken here, but after our Savior rose from the dead and was standing on the shoreline, yelling out to those in the boat who had once again caught no fish, “Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.” (John 21:6) was it not Peter that dove into the water, swimming to the shore to greet the Master? I am just curious here, why then in the account we are given when Peter walked on the water, when he started to sink, did he not just swim back to the boat? Why was he afraid that he would drown if he could swim? I understand that some of you want to impress upon the truth that it is the Lord Jesus Christ that saves, not
