Trivial Pursuit

Without the desire of individuals for information, there would be no media outlets, and without the desire for truth on a continuous level, there would be no news. People want to know, but why they want to know escapes them, for the majority of the news that they inhale each day is in no way relevant to their lives, it is simply information, and reminds me of the game Trivial Pursuit. It was an exceptional play on words by the producers of the game, advertising it in such a way to increase knowledge, but few understood what the name of the game means, the pursuit of useless knowledge.

Such is the majority of the news across this planet, it is informative only to those who hold a personal relationship to whatever current event is occurring, one that is in proximity to either their geographical placement on the planet, or a news report that for one reason or another is important to them because of an emotional attachment to it. The perception that all news is important to every one is what keeps the lights on in every news station, when in fact the opposite is true, and they all know this. “Breaking News” only means something just happened, but no matter what it is, it is portrayed as important, and in the case of the flu, the lockdowns, and the passports that are arriving, the news outlets have found a gold mine, one that they will covet and embellish for every waking moment.

Most individuals are aware of these facts, the question is, why do they stay tuned in, why does the human mind seek this most generally useless information not only daily, but on an hourly basis. Because they are so easily deceived, because they have believed the lie that out of the mouth of every newsperson comes knowledge that cannot be missed, that it is always so very important, no matter what it is. There must of course always be rival stations, divisions must always be allowed, but continuously monitored, if there were only one, the people would know they were being deceived, and then forced obedience would be necessary. No, it is much easier to allow the perception of the truth to be seen, and then removed quickly with the next breaking story.

Diversions are not just required; they are absolutely necessary. “But neither so did their witness agree together.” (Mark 14:59) “And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?” (Numb. 16:3) “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Gen. 3:1) Nothing new in our day, same story, different day.

The only difference in our day is that technology allows the lies to spread quicker and in a far more reaching manner. Very little of what we see and read these days is truth, they are lies, made subtly as to convince the masses of their importance, and most generally, those who yell the loudest and longest are seen as the ones espousing the truth. “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2 Tim. 3:13) And my friends, we are in the thick of it today.

What you must consider is this, the time that you spend searching for the next newsworthy event, the hours that you spend “monitoring the situation,” could it be better spent. “The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.” (Prov. 21:12) I would suggest only this, allowing yourself to view only that which is pertinent to what the Lord has called you to do. Without any news whatsoever, you may be caught off guard, too much of it, and you will find much of your life wasted in trivial pursuits.

The media is controlled by our adversary, he has been manipulating it for sometime now and he is extremely proficient at what he does, but he is doing nothing new, it is the same thing he has always done, creating doubt through lies to keep our focus off of Christ. Knowledge of the truth is the only way to see through the lies.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
