Polite Or Kind?

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

I believe if you will search the Scriptures, you will find that the reason John Mark left Paul in one of his journeys was because Paul blinded a man. I believe that if you will contemplate John 2:15, “And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;” that many of you will find that the Lord Jesus Christ in His totality is not who you are following, but only the parts of Him that, shall we say, make you feel better.

Was it love for mankind that caused Him to not call down twelve legions of angels, or obedience to the will of the Father, was He impolite when he said to the Pharisees that day, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” (John 8:24) Was it necessary for Annanias and Saphira to die, simply because they lied?

The Almighty’s love is balanced perfectly with His perfect justice.

“And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.” (Rev. 15:3)

But many who claim to and actually do serve Him as Master refuse to find or apply that balance anymore, kindness has been replaced with politeness.

Search yourself here, how many have you witnessed to in your life of the love of the Lord, of the grace offered through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, of the everlasting mercy that is available to all who call upon His Holy name, and how many have you warned of the eternal fire that awaits all who refuse to repent, of the eternal wrath and suffering that awaits them if they refuse to heed the call?

And your excuse if you do not is that it just doesn’t seem polite, and your reasoning will be that God is love.

Have you ever looked them in the eye and said, “This is what you will hear if you do not hear and obey what has been revealed to you?”

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” (Matt. 25:41)

For many of you no, no you haven’t, because you only want to show them the “good” side of Christ, you want them to know that He can heal their heart, transform their mind, that eternal love awaits them, that following Christ is joy unspeakable. If you told them the entire truth, you might scare them off, it’s best just to be polite, for to warn them of eternal damnation would not be kind, would it?

Yet your Savior spoke about these truths constantly.

I do not think that many understand that because of this transference from kindness to politeness we now find ourselves in the enabled society, thieves are allowed to steal, sodomites can parade not only down the street unfettered, but in the public places where children play and learn, laws have been enacted to punish those who would stand against the evils of this day, and many who claim to serve the Lord Jesus Christ fear personal repercussions if they stand for the truths of the Word of God.

They will not reprove, rebuke or judge with righteous judgment, for that would not be polite, that would not be Christlike.

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2nd Tim. 3:5)

Serving a part of Christ is not serving Christ my friends, it is designing a god of your own design, one who is like what you want Him to be.

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16)

Only those who stand firmly in the truth of Philippians 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

I don’t suppose any of you would have a problem casting out an evil spirit if you could, would you? But we wouldn’t want to rebuke the evil man would we, that would not be polite.
