We must be very careful here, full of caution, we must use spiritual discernment at all times. Things are moving very quickly, even the news media is having difficulty keeping up with all the new events, little time if any is being spent on the relevant, much on what is considered the immediate, the important.
I have watched with due diligence as those who profess to know Christ as Savior, (whether they do or not, only the Lord knows, for I have no personal contact with them,) but I am watching as the ever increasing subject matter seems to be the downfall of civilization and the imminent and very soon return of our Lord for His church. I use great caution with my words here, for a servant cannot judge another servant in these matters, (Romans 14:4) “And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.” (1 Cor. 12:21) But, what and if the floods stop occurring with regularity, what will the prophetic warnings revolve around when the fires go out, when all the locust die? Will these individuals feel a need to portray the known evil of the entertainment industry as the same sign of His coming? Perhaps large, gluttonous-for-worldly-wealth corporations, or even an individual to whom they believe has too much power, too much control or too much money. Such is the certain path that the world is on, pure socialism, the anti-christ, the only true worldly leader of men will see to that.
The continuing portrayal of the sure return of our Lord when, and if, all of these so-called “earth shaking” events cease, if He so deems it, will be just another cause for the lost to deride His Holy name, to say in their own words and language, “Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Peter 3:4) Perhaps these are indeed signs from the Lord, perhaps He has simply removed His hand of grace and mercy from certain places on this planet, He alone knows, but to be portents of doom every time an occurrence happens is not the place of the child of God, in fact, those who look upon these times whose hearts cannot go out in compassion to those that are being affected by them is indeed a sin. Those who pray and constantly look for the signs of His coming for us and forget that this means the beginning of the great and terrible day of the Lord (Amos 5:18) have become more than selfish, they are denying the power and longsuffering of the Lord. “For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.” (Eze. 18:32)
And many hundreds of millions of souls are going to end up eternally lost when these days begin.
Those who claim prophetic events do not understand that all prophecy has been fulfilled, we are in the age of grace, the only prophecy on God’s calendar is the rapture of the church. Those who insist on not only believing but placing on every media website they can images of doom and gloom and forget the incredible suffering that is happening to those in these areas should feel great shame. What and if the Lord decides to take a break, if you will, for a while, say for a year, or perhaps ten. Those who are consistently revealing their belief that every rain cloud, great earthquake, or moving leaf is a sure sign must keep themselves in check, for although the lost can be reached for Him in this way, if they stop, if the Lord is gracious to us and ceases these times, they may remain lost because of our intentions to help.
It is a fine line, but “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” (Deut. 18:22) Balance your viewing of these type of sites with much spiritual discernment, if you are placing them on media or websites yourself, always show grace, show them the way out, show more than pictures and videos of what you consider portents of upcoming doom. Show them the hope that can only come from Jesus Christ, then it will not matter if He returns soon or not, one cannot compare the short years of a man’s life with eternity. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Cor. 2:9)
