I have made numerous, perhaps thousands of poor decisions in my life, and suffered the consequences for every one of them in one form or another. I suppose all of us have. But if there is one particular place that I must be assured, as much as is within me, that my decision is the correct one, it is in my walk with Christ.
“But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” (Matt. 5:37)
An old saying for you then, “Engage your brain before you engage your mouth.”
The information offered to you in these short letters cannot be wrong, if I am not sure it is what I am being led to write in any part of them I will use the words “In my opinion,” or “This is just conjecture on my part.” Or simply say, “I do not know.”
Whether I will admit it to myself or not, I have been blessed with the knowledge, in a small way, of the words of God and how human nature acts and reacts within people, and with this pen He is using me for His glory.
Some of you may find this difficult to believe or understand, but I do not decide on the subject matter of these letters, as best as I can describe to you, I write what I hear in my mind, my heart, each sentence, and then I wait to hear the next one. Without attempting to sound conceited, and in all humility, the words penned are from the Holy Spirit, meant to edify sometimes, correct, reprove and rebuke at other times.
Honestly my friends, to me, many of them seem downright rude, almost demeaning at times, revealing faults, not only in myself but in those that some of them are, apparently, specifically written for.
Those decisions are not mine.
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (Gal. 6:10)
Personally, I can think of a thousand things that I would rather be doing than writing these letters, but that is not my decision to make. I was not called in these last days of my life to begin a prison ministry, to reach out to bikers, to attempt to speak the truths of the words of God to junkies on the street, I was told to pick up a pen and a cheap notebook and listen, then write what I hear.
The decisions we make in this life, whether poor or wise, have repercussions not only in this life, but in many cases in eternal matters.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
That is our message, we have to make the decision to study, to pray, to seek His face daily, and my friends, this is not where you ever want to make a poor decision. Souls may be at stake.
What I am called to do, as well as many of you, is both humbling and frightening at the same time, the decision to keep pride at bay as well as face that fear in faith is one you must make, you have been blessed with the knowledge of at least some of His truths, more will arrive when you are ready.
The decision to apply them when required or necessary is left totally in your hands.
My beautiful wife has made the decision to assist me in what I have been called to do, even when she does not fully understand. That is faith.
We do not need to see the final results, the harvest is the Lords, but we must make a decision, and when that decision is made, we must stick by it. Look at the miniscule views these videos get and ask yourself if you would continue.
“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” (Prov. 16:9)
He is not going to force you to follow or obey Him, that is your decision.
Remember that.
