I was born in the nation that I currently live in, that means that I have what are called certain inalienable rights, which of course are being modified by our adversary, and it also means that I am subject to all the rules of this nation. It is called nationalistic pride by many, devotion to the nation one was born in above all other nations, and it is a fiercely held concept by many.
But again, this is something that Satan is attempting to change, and he will succeed. There will be only ten nations when the dust settles, as they say, and all will be under the supervision of the antichrist. There will be a one world currency, a one world religion, or at the least the manifestation of one that all will be required to follow, and one path will be set before all, the path of oneness for mankind. But as we know, it will only last about seven years.
I offer you this truth today, if you have been born-again, your citizenship has been changed, you are no longer a citizen of the country you live in, the pride that came with being a part of that nation is to die, for you are now a citizen of the Kingdom of God. As an ambassador of a foreign nation, your responsibility is to glorify your King, it is to show the truth of His words to the nation that you live in, which in all reality you should now realize is no more than a temporary place.
As a soldier does for any nation, you are to be willing to die for your King and country, as a representative of the Most High, you are to carry His banner everywhere you go, to extol His precepts and commands to all that will listen. You my friends do not only live in a foreign land now, but are in enemy territory, and the ruler of this earth knows that you have deserted from his ranks. He will do all that he is allowed to do to defeat you, and although he knows that the One you now serve will never let you go, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39) he will do all he can to hinder the work that has been set before you.
I have been in many different churches in my life, and in nearly every one of them somewhere stands the flag of that nation, in a sense speaking of a dual citizenship, and to those I have mentioned some of the words in this letter to, it is unconscionable for them to remove that flag, they attempt to stand for both the Kingdom of God and the nation they live in, and that cannot be done. Satan is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4) and so every nation is under his control, they always have been. We are still to be subject to the laws of the land that we live in, Romans 13:1 makes this quite clear, but there must be a point where the Word of God must supersede all the laws of man.
I will not say where that point lays, but I believe in the very near future many of us will need to define it.
Paul claimed citizenship to Rome, but personally I believe that the Lord led the circumstances in his life that required him to do that, for God wanted him in Rome to witness for Him, but Paul knew where his true citizenship was. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we are bound to the rules, regulations and laws of our home, they are always to come first.
As an ambassador from the Kingdom of God, you have been given an instruction manual, and you are to study it daily, memorize what parts of it you can, live by the word of it, and never once deny the citizenship that you have been blessed with. The nation you live in is not your home, it is now secondary to your fealty to your King. Behave accordingly.
