I spoke with a person entrenched in a branch of the Orthodox church the other day, the wonders of the internet, who, after I offered him the verse that says we are not to call anyone in a religious organization father, after he was informed that the priest who made the specific video these comments were placed on was not as he claimed, that he was not completely righteous, that he had not attained to a sinless life and that many other things he had said could not be verified in the Scriptures, he politely ended the conversation.
I have spoken to many over the years who are trapped by the Roman Catholic cult who when numerous proofs are offered to them that it is not in accordance in any way with the Word of God, have railed against me vehemently, and then left. With Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Charismatics, deniers of Paul’s calling by the Lord Jesus Christ, the list of cults is nearly endless, and each have fulfilled Galatians 4:16 towards the truth. “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”
“Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.” (Prov. 9:8)
I have found over the years that it is much more difficult to assist those who have been subjected to a religious or denominational teaching over much time to hear and comprehend the truths of the Word of God, the ability to discern these truths seems to be covered over by years of the false teachings they have subjected themselves to. They are proficient in expounding upon these lies, but do not see them as such, and so fulfill in their life 2nd Timothy 3:7, “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
I have a question for you I would ask you to contemplate about these individuals, and I am not attempting to take the word offered out of context, but do you believe that the Almighty has given them over to a reprobate mind?
“And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.” Revelation 2:21 comes to mind here, along with Paul’s exasperation when he declared he would no longer attempt to speak to the nation of his birth but would instead go to the Gentiles. These we speak of are indeed deceived, but are they are trapped without hope of escape, can they be saved or is that reprobate mind able to be transformed to see the truth and escape these cults. I believe so or I would not continue to seek for them, and I believe in part Revelation 18:4 holds this view as truth. “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Most will rebuke you and then stop speaking with you, but that is not important, we have a message to offer to the lost, and these are not just lost but deceived, they have willingly allowed themselves to believe a lie, and they will have no excuse on their day of accounting.
Whether it be that Mary was born sinless or baptism is necessary for salvation, whether it be that we can attain sinlessness, that Muhammad was a messenger from God, or that we will become gods of our own planet, we have been sent with the truth, and they will hate you for telling them that truth. Can you accept that? Are you honestly willing to be hated by the world? Can you stand for righteousness in a world of lies and deceptions?
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matt. 10:16)
