You Are Supposed To Be Dead

When the Lord calls a man to Himself, He bids that man to come and die.

Not something your pastor has spoken about much I am going to guess, not something that the average Christian wants to hear today. It means having to give up not certain things, but everything, it means no more you, all of life from this point on is to have one purpose, to glorify God in the highest. Most go part way, some because they still want a little of the glory, if you will, for themselves, others because the world, and self, are difficult to leave behind, but all that will not die for Christ have one thing in common, they do not truly love Him.

Oh, they will adamantly refute this statement, but with just a few well placed words their own excuses can be shown to them for what they are, a lack of trust, which is a lack of faith, which is a lack of love.

It is the possibility of adverse, negative circumstances that keep them from being the “100” Christian, (Matt. 13:8) they like to repeat Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” But they get “good” confused with happiness, with security, with personal achievement, and cannot see good for what it is, the glory of God. Those who have been crucified with Christ, (Gal. 2:20) see no evil in their lives, nor will they ever experience any, (Psalm 91:10) they do not see good or bad instances, and they do not need to be able to understand the minute details about the circumstances that surround them at any given time, they do not just say all things happen for good, they know it to be the truth.

Far too many look at being crucified with Christ as losing everything, instead of gaining Christ, and here is where they err, here is where their faith stops, these are all of the thirties, and most of the sixties in Matthew 13:8, they are willing to go a little ways with Him, some a little further, but they fear too much, they do not love Him with all their heart, the prize that is Jesus Christ is not worth all the effort.

You may say the world has a great pull on them, family and friends, their employment field, name any obstacle you so choose to, but to find the cause, one must dig up the roots, and that root is buried in the ground of self. No one is forced to “go all the way” with the Lord, but He will not deny that to any of those who desire to. Think of it in stages, if it makes it easier for you, no one starts at 100, we all, for the most part, start at 0, then thirty, sixty, and then to one hundred, it is just that many, far too many these days have not even reached thirty, simply because they do not want to.

Oh, they may try to convince you otherwise, but try telling them that Jesus Christ is literally to be more important than their own children, tell the man that his desires to excel are to be not put aside, but completely forgotten, tell any of them that to be crucified with Christ means that all of their hopes and dreams of this world are to be cast aside, that all of their past efforts are to be treated as dung, (Phil. 3:8) that the entire future of the rest of their life is to be in service to Christ and to His name alone. There are a lot of less than thirties out there today, and very few hundreds indeed.

I know this for a fact, and so do you, for the Holy Spirit has not been diminished in any of His power, for He is God, and so the answer is inevitable, those who have the Holy Spirit within them have not lived up to their part of the bargain, they are not doing, for the most part, not only what they have been commanded to do, but what they should have been doing simply out of love for the Savior. Hence my friends, the great falling away, which without, the advent of evil that is so prevalent today could not have occurred.

And please, do not start to get this sinful idea that there is more of “them,” the sinful lost, then there is of us. “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” (Psalm91:7) “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” (2 Kings 6:17) “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

No, it is as I have written, Jesus is not prize enough in the hearts of far too many who dare to call Him Lord. Perhaps if you paraphrased that verse, without any disrespect, all things happen for the glory of God, to those who love God. That works quite well, if it is only His glory you seek.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
