There is something that each and every human being needs to be aware of, God does not need us, not in any way, shape, or form, in fact, if you boil it down to just the barest of necessities for life to exist, we do not even need each other. Food, water, occasionally some form of shelter and most of the time, some form of clothing, that’s it, that is all you need.
Now, some will attempt to disagree with me on this last part, that of not needing people, but eventually when all the talk and reasonings on their behalf are exhausted, all they will have left is emotional context, studies that show that psychologically people are more content, happy, and etc. when they have others around, especially those that love them, but that does not dispute the truth stated above, you will not physically die if you have the four items listed above, you will continue to breath and function.
But what of God, is there truth in the statement that God Almighty is self-sustaining, that He is quite capable of existence without us, the answer is of course yes, we can add nothing to Him that benefits Him in any way. He is no respecter of persons, (Romans 2:11) but He remembers that we are but dust. (Psalm 103:14) He expects only one thing from all of us, and He will get it, glory, we were made to glorify the Lord God, that is our purpose. We are as singular in nature as any item we obtain is for the purpose it was purchased for, but we have been blessed with other capabilities.
Your refrigerator has a singular purpose, to keep things cold, but when it breaks down, you can put it in the garage and use it to store items with, we can use wood to build houses and furniture, or we can burn it for warmth, we human beings are purposed for secondary tasks beyond our main one, but they are all meant to glorify God as the end result. The purpose of the lost who will die in their sins? “What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: “And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,” (Romans 9:22-23) Plain and simple, some have been fitted to destruction so that those who will enjoy the kingdom of God forever will be blessed.
“Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?” (Romans 9:20) No, but we as a people, and as individuals, we are quite good at saying no to the Lord, but that matters very little to Him, He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that does not change His mind about where they are going to spend eternity, contrary to what some religious organizations will attempt to make you believe, so what is the purpose then, why make human beings, He is glory itself, He does not need anyone to remind Him of that, it does not make the Lord feel better when angels and men adore and praise Him, in fact, we seem to be at times, at least in the finite way that humans can think, nothing more than a bothersome, troublesome burden.
I have begun to contemplate something recently, before the Lord created man, just what did He use to show His wrath, what items in the creation got Him so upset, so to speak, that it received the fulness of His fury? It is difficult to describe properly, but without man, God had no reason to be wrathful, there was no reason to make hell and the Lake of Fire if He had not created the angels, He never needed the seraphim or cherubim for any specific reason, He did not even need to make all of the known universe, so why, why put yourself through thousands of years of unspeakable sorrow, of mocking and disbelief, of rebellions and heartache when you do not need one single bit of any of it, when pure contentment and complete satisfaction is found within yourself.
I know you want to say love, but He is love, our love for Him adds nothing to the perfect love that He is and always has been. It is a question I want to ask Him when we meet.
