Worship And Praise

“And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” (Rev. 19:6)

I would ask you once again to contemplate a question that may not be answerable in this life, and may not ever be fully understood by us throughout eternity, and it has to do with that opening verse and the many others similar to it in the last book of the Scriptures.

How do all those people know exactly what to say and exactly when to say it?

Every actor, every singer needs to spend many hours rehearsing their lines, they must be memorized and practiced over and over. The words spoken correctly and at the proper time.

I personally do not believe there will be numerous rehearsals for us who will stand before the Almighty in those days in heaven as the days of Jacob’s Troubles are occurring here on earth, and so, as far as my finite mind can comprehend, that leaves only one alternative, and it can be stated in two ways. We know what we are to say because we are being manipulated to say it.

Now then, to that question I spoke of, is it truly worship of the Living God if we are being manipulated to say those words?

“The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Rev. 4:10-11)

All twenty-four, in unison, same words at the same time, with no rehearsals, no forethought, just as that incalculable number present will do several times.

Will we want to say those words? Of course, we have been doing so since we were saved by grace through faith in the best way we can while here in the flesh.

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Heb. 13:15)

At times those words and thoughts of worship, praise and adoration flow from our hearts and lips unfettered, without any real forethought, with an immediacy that surprises even us, unlike our prayers, our request that we should at least give careful consideration to before we come boldly to His throne of grace.

One should contemplate well, and at great length each time what you desire of your King before you enter into His presence.

But this is different. Everyone saying the same thing at the same time, in perfect unison, with no forethought, no instructions beforehand of what to say and when to say it.

I could here offer these following words and let you contemplate how you would answer the question posed today.

Are we being forced to say those words, and if so, is it truly us offering that praise?

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” (Prov. 16:9)

Free will my friends, where does it stop and where does the Sovereignty of the Almighty take over, when are we used for His glory and when do we serve of our own free will for His glory?

Who is saying those words, even though they will pass from our lips?

Almost every prophet in the Old Testament was told in some fashion that the Lord would speak through them to the people, Peter did not rehearse the words he spoke at Pentecost, we speak words to people we witness to that sometimes amaze us to hear coming from our mouths.

The words we will speak during that time will be the words that we would want to say, and all of us will do so at the right time. The question doesn’t really need to be answered, in our sanctification we are being taught how to properly praise Him who is worthy of all praise, honor and glory.

Practice that every day, and it will become a normal way of life for you.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
