“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Heb. 10:25)
There is a great evil spreading across the planet, and as all evil does, it has done so subtly, in a sneaking fashion, barely perceptible to those who believe that not forsaking that assembling of themselves together, those who believe that to follow Christ means to be good stewards of their possessions, who find excuses for not taking the time to read and study His Word every day, those whom the cares of the world, who seek for self-satisfaction, override those things of the will of God.
Our adversary moves slowly, but with fervent intent, he rushes headlong into nothing when it concerns the path he desires mankind to follow, he knows his battle is not against the Most High, that he has already lost, but against the free will of man, against the knowledge of the truth that resides in every human being of Romans 1:20.
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
Coercion with great subtly, with fierce aggression posing in correctness.
Realize this truth my friends, the city of Sodom was not built as a place of refuge for the homosexual community of its day. Evil men in positions of power were not born with the intent to be so, good is not called evil overnight.
“But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.” (2nd Thess. 3:13)
That weariness my friends does not come upon those who only fill the pews on Sunday morning out of a self-imposed obligation to the Almighty, it does not arrive in the lives of those who serve the Living God at their pleasure and in their own way, in those who believe the outward appearance is more important than a transformed heart. Personal fear keeps them in the church, personal fear drives them to their knees, fear keeps them from standing against the evil of these days, not a holy and righteous anger that displaces all fear.
To live is Christ is to remove fear, to die is gain is to stand in the evil day.
But Satan moves slowly, and for these, love is the answer, not Christ, enablement is the cause, not His shed blood, “Thy will be done” is not said in the battle they will not enter into, but from the confines of that place of security they have envisioned, that place that exists only in their minds, that place that says they are not called to stand.
“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” (Matt. 15:8)
Perceived personal fear is more dangerous than actually entering the battle, for in the battle action must be taken, but when it is only perceived, fear can rule in that person’s life. Satan understands these truths greater than this old man ever could, but I know a truth that he denies, yet must accept.
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1st John 4:4)
This world is destined to be on this path at this time, the Living God has decreed it to be so, but that does not mean that we are to sit on the sidelines and use “Thy will be done” as an excuse to not join in the battle, to not stand against the wiles of the devil, to hide from the evil. Uriah did not question Joab’s command to go to the foremost part of the battle, neither should you.
“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2nd Cor. 2:11)
Those the Lord has blessed to be wise as serpents are gentle as doves, yet they fight the fiercest in the battles, they see clearly our adversary’s subtlety, standing in the promises, warning all they meet, working, not watching.
