Without Virtue

Cats are not capable of thinking like reindeer, mice do not have the capability to think like an alligator, most have never even seen one. Animals have been blessed with instincts, a house cat has the exact same instincts as one that lives outside, they know what they know and that is all they know, although they can be trained, as most animals can, they will never progress beyond their instincts, contrary to evolutionary thinking, they have not progressed, and unless the Lord intervenes they never will.

Man has two items that animals do not possess, a soul and the ability to sin. Animals cannot sin, they possess no eternal soul, we as a race place emotional context on what they do, we try to comprehend how they think, but we never will, no matter how much scientific effort is put fourth, we will never understand the entirety of the creation of the Lord God.

The human race is not so, we are, in the basest sense, all alike, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (1 Cor. 10:13) It is possible for the kindliest grandfather to think as a mass murderer, we have the capability of becoming in many ways just like someone else, the difference is we can either choose to or choose not to, we call this free will, it was once called dignity. It is the knowledge that man understands that he is the dominant force on this planet, that he alone has dominion over not only all of creation, but is capable of understanding and acting on this knowledge. But there is little value in this, save for the short, temporary existence that we have here, it can only profit us as long as we are alive.

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Prov. 4:7) Wisdom is the knowledge that there is something greater than ourselves, that when reality sinks in, we must come to the conclusion that there is a force, what many call god, no matter the definition of that terminology in their mind, that is above them. They will not of course serve that god, for in their eyes the only proof of this greater being is in the creation itself, so then, their deity is recognized as existing, but shows no other form of its existence beyond the visible, and the knowledge of what is. This is where most of mankind lives, relegating to “something” the knowledge of its existence, but paying no praise to this idea, keeping themselves, as it were, at the forefront of the reason for their existence.

Although some may offer homage to their idea of this “Higher power,” they will not bend the knee to it unless there is a personal need that they are seeking after. Here is the basics of superstition, the very root of nearly every religious organization, the cause of fear. Dignity without wisdom is completely useless, for it traps a man into slavery, it gives him the false thoughts that the animals hold the same value as mankind does, that trees have the same capability as humans do, it infers dominance where dominance does not reside. It is virtue that is the stepping-stone to the knowledge of the Most High in its greatest attribute that mankind can offer to Him, our praise.

Virtue recognizes the One True God, it is able to comprehend by His will that all else is not possible without Him, it is the knowledge that brings the truth of the revelation that nothing can exist without Him, it shows us the truth that we are but dust. Virtue is the understanding that we are not the dominant force, that we are temporary, virtue is the only way to kill pride.

Wisdom without virtue is accursed, for without virtue, without the knowledge that it is God Almighty that rules in the kingdom of men, (Dan. 4:17) man will and inevitably always has attempted to place himself on the throne. From Satan saying, “I will,” to the choice of Adam, to Nimrod, the Pharisees, Hitler, to those of the present day who are attempting to bring their form of control and power upon us, those who have wisdom of the world, but no desire to serve Him who can only be served with the understanding of virtue, these also will pass into oblivion, they will be forgotten just as all those who came before them were.

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14) Those who are wise in the ways of the world believe themselves to be the masters of their own destinies, and to a degree they are, for we are not like the animals, we are not the same as the trees of the field or the birds in the sky, we have free will, but each and every one of them seem to have forgotten one thing, they are going to die.

It is the Lord God Almighty that rules in the kingdom of men, and it makes no difference whatsoever the attempts of men to thwart that power, you may as well try to teach a mouse to behave as an elephant. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Heb. 11:6) Virtue can come from no other source, pride cannot be defeated by wisdom, free will does not infer dominance, mankind has no choice in this matter, it is the Lord God that rules in all things, we have but to submit in love to the One who loved us first to see the truth of the futility of a life without Him.
