Did you ever think it rather odd that Noah was around five hundred years old when he started building the ark, yet he had only three sons? Here is something else to ponder, do you suppose that he was a boat builder by trade?
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” (Eze. 36:26)
To a degree my friends, that new heart was put into me when the Lord placed this pen in my hands. I am not a writer, I am a listener, and as the knowledge of how to build that ark came into the mind of Noah when it was time to begin the work, the words I pen are placed in my mind. It is what happens to each of us who have been born again, who live our lives devoted to the glory of the Living God, He teaches us through the Holy Spirit a new trade, and how to be profitable in it for Him. In this sense, in all humility, we are like the Lord Jesus Christ.
“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” (John 12:49)
If indeed all things have become new for us, then it stands to reason that we must be taught how to apply these new things. In one sense we are all the same who are hid in Christ, we all serve the Lord Jesus Christ for the glory of God, we are all led by the Holy Spirit on how to do that, we are all on the same path to that strait gate. But we do not all hold the same office, the same calling, the same job responsibilities, so to speak.
I would be just as unprofitable as a missionary as I would be in a hospital ministerial position, I am too much of a “Thus saith the Lord” type of person. That is not to say that I do not have compassion, but there are many more of His chosen that have more of a compassionate heart for others than I do, or probably ever will have. There are some who are as Mary and there are some who are as Martha, both serve the Lord in ways that glorify Him.
There was no way in the world that Peter was going to lay his head on the chest of Jesus, but both he and John were sent out numerous times together.
“Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.” (John 21:22)
Once you truly start to follow Him, then you can be led to what He desires you to do. And my friends, it more than likely will be something you never imagined.
The videos I am blessed to produce on the Borrowed Truths YouTube channel require an incredible amount of time, both in learning and applying what I have learned, they employ the vivid imagination that I have been blessed with throughout my entire life. All these Letters of Truth require of me is to sit down, pick up my pen and notepad, listen, and then write what I hear in my heart. That new heart He put inside of me.
Willing to serve, that is really all it takes, a heart that is willing to be obedient to His will in your life. It is the hardest thing that you will ever do, and the most satisfying.
I doubt very much that Noah was a ship builder, he might have been, but I doubt it. But I think I know this as a truth, it was probably easier for him to build that ark than it was to imagine water falling from the sky.
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Prov. 3:6)
One other thing my friends, do not get overly discouraged if a lot of people don’t follow what you do, hear what you say, recognize who it is you work for. You work for God. If you need a companion for your frustrations in this regard, read the Book of Jeremiah again.
