Do you rush off to the local clinic when pain of the flesh arrives, do you search for the most recent self-help book when the troubles of your mind begin to assail you, are friends and family kept nearby to assure you that there will always be help in times of trouble or adversity? Where do you honestly find your strength and security?
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” (Jer. 17:5) And “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
These verses are inverse statements that show us that the Lord is to be our strength and refuge, our high tower. (Psalm 144:2) I fear that many who claim Jesus Christ as Lord seek help from the world when all the help they need has never left them or forsook them, He has always been right there just waiting for us to ask of Him whatever it is we need, but few desire to walk boldly to the throne of grace, instead they seek assistance from the world, and while at times the Lord God has definitely blessed some with the ability to understand the medical arts, the complexity of the mind, and the understanding that sometimes simply the assuring hand and voice of a loved one is there for us, He is who we are always to run to first, He is always to be the One that we seek first.
The greatest ailment that anyone can experience is fear, and our adversary is doing quite a good job of that lately. The supposed new brand of the flu is only the start, get tested, but when tested, and found out that one has this virus, the doctor that these people run to for help simply tells them to go home and rest. But that in reality was all they wanted, just another human to validate their fear. I speak not only here of the lost and wicked, but of some who truly are saved. Their hope does not rest in Christ alone, but in Christ and man.
It is a debate that I have had with many, and their argument is firmly embedded in their mind. The black death of Europe was initiated by unsanitary conditions, the cure was to sanitize, to remove the rats, dirty water and all those items that created those unsanitary conditions, not to seek the face of God first. The age of man is upon us, the removal of God first is the only path to this end. “And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.” (Daniel 3:6) This was the way of Nebuchadnezzar, and it will be the way of the antichrist, man’s knowledge must be placed above faith in God.
The manufactured recent pandemic, as they call it, “wars and rumors of wars,” (Mark 13:7) all these are meant for one singular purpose, to create a fear that can only be relieved by trusting in mankind. Another line from a song for you, “I’m taking over now, you won’t be led astray.”
An economic crash on a world-wide scale is approaching, events caused intentionally by men led by Satanic forces that will presumably only be able to be rectified by mankind will happen. Fear is a powerful tool, perhaps the most powerful weapon against the soul that has not been placed fully in the capable hands of the Lord Jesus Christ. The question is, who will you run to first? The hungry man will take every advantage he can to feed his starving children and himself, he will do all he can to protect them in every aspect of their lives. The question for you needs to be this then, and it is not so easy to answer when great trials and tribulations enter into your life, which verse will fit you best? “Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” (Job 2:4) Or “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matt. 6:10) Who will you run to?
