“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” (Gal. 4:16)
Harsh, critical, pessimistic, contentious, that is what they will call you, not normally to your face though.
The truth says that the heart of man is continuously evil, that the whole world lies in wickedness, that most people will die in their sins and go to hell. The lie is that the majority of people are kind and caring, that everything will be better someday, that mankind can live together in peace as one big happy family, and my friends, most people prefer the lie because the truth is more than objectionable in their eyes, it is detestable.
Because you lived a fairly good life and caused no intentional harm to others you should be recognized as a good person, and you are, in the eyes of the world. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)
Hell is full of good people.
Over two hundred thousand people are going to die today, how many went to hell and how many were saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? It really does not matter if you like that truth or not, your feelings in the matter do not alter the truth in any way, most of those decent, caring people out there, more than two hundred thousand every single day, will die in their sins, and go to hell, while those who have been born again will not.
Nothing you can do towards your salvation will avail you anything, going to church, feeding the poor, visiting the sick, helping the homeless, hell is full of good people. Try explaining that truth to those you meet and see what kind of response you get.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1st Cor. 1:18) In other words, it isn’t just foolishness, it is a lie to them, because they are in their minds good people.
The Roman Catholic cult calls them venial sins, God Almighty calls it unrighteousness, people call them little white lies, God calls it sin.
Your High Priest in heaven is your intercessor, He is the one that saved you, that holds you firm in His hands, who will bring you home when it is time, this is the truth. Unless those you speak to are brought to the understanding that they are sinners in the eyes of the Lord God and that His wrath not only abides on them now but will for all eternity unless they repent, you have offered them no truth.
You can tell them, and you should, of His love for them, what He did on that cross for them, how He is willing to forgive them of every single sin they have ever or will ever commit, but unless you tell them that they are sinners in need of repentance, you have not spoken to them the entire truth.
“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” (Prov. 22:15) Think of even the most aged, mature person you meet who does not yet know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior yet as a foolish child, one in whom the foolishness needs to be revealed to, the foolishness that being a good person makes them acceptable in the eyes of the Lord.
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2nd Cor. 5:21)
One way, one person, one Savior, that is the truth, most will hate you for saying it to them, the ones that will listen are the ones you are seeking.
