When you think about our Lord, which verse comes to mind, not specifically, but of His nature, “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” (Matt. 9:36) Or “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Rev. 19:16) The Christ of peace, or the Christ that will bring wrath upon His enemies?
I know which One Satan has been advancing for his cause the last few decades, and it is not the Lord who will rule with a rod of righteousness, in fact, when it is contemplated, it is not even the One of love, but the meek Christ, and not in the way the Scriptures interpret that word.
Today in the eyes of the world not only is Jesus a loser, but all those that follow Him are seen as weak, with no backbone, as easy pushovers. It is as if the account of Nehemiah has been obliterated when he told the people to work with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other, as if the words of David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, are to be forgotten, “I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.” (Psalm 139:22) The Christ that told Peter to put up his sword (John 18:11) is remembered, not the One who replied, “It is enough” (Luke 22:38) when told they had all of two swords between them. As far as those who went with the Lord that night to the Mount of Olives knew, it was just another night under the stars, they did not arm themselves before they left the upper room, more than likely at least one or two of them made it a habit to be armed.
The Jesus that made a whip before He went into the temple, or the One who shed tears at the grave of His friend Lazarus. I know which one most serve today, and I believe I know why. The days that are approaching are indeed evil, there will be no place to hide from it, and if there is one thing our adversary does not need it is a bunch of Christians willing to stand for the glory of the Most High. “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16)
This has been a slow and methodically thought-out plan, it has taken decades, at least two generations as we count them today. The man of the house must be made to seem an inept fool, subservient not only to his wife, but even to his children. Satan nearly always starts with the destruction of the family. The church itself, the gathering together of those who serve Jesus Christ and Him alone as Lord must be made to seem weak kneed, unwilling to fight the battle, hiding behind their brass handled doors from the world they are to stand against. From homosexuality to transgenderism, the trap of the lust of the flesh must not only be made to seem normal, as right for each who chose it, but disrespect and dishonor, indeed laws must be placed upon those who would hinder this “great advancement” of mankind.
If you have not been watching this happen over the last few decades, then you are indeed blind, if you have not stood against these evils, then what right do you have to call yourself by the name Christian? Which Jesus do you serve? I meet and read, see or hear very rarely the man or woman of God who understands that in love we are to reprove and correct, I meet more who will not stop casting pearls before swine and instead attempt to believe that love, not the love of Christ but love in general actions will win over that poor lost sinner.
If you believe that the Lord was polite and kind all the time, then you haven’t been reading your Bible, if you think that He is always friendly, always kind, never offending, then you know nothing of our Lord. I hate those people that hate my Savior, and so in love I reach out to them.
