I’m going to test your faith, or better yet, I am going to offer you some truths, and then let you see just where your faith layss, and why.
“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.” (Job 38:4) God is Sovereign over all of His creation, of this there is no doubt, all of reality is His to do with as He pleases, He answers to no one, no one can take Him to court, no one can hinder what He has ordained. “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” (Isaiah 22:22)
The man down the street that has been sexually abusing his daughter, God knows about that, and He does not put a stop to it. Those who have tortured and killed not only people but animals, He sees them as they do this, and He does nothing to stop them. The cute puppy, put on a chain for so long that the collar eats into his neck as he grows, until it finally slowly chokes him to death He watches, and does not act. Demons enter people, He sees this, and there is no immediate punishment.
All manner of horrors throughout the past hundreds of centuries He has witnessed, and He does not lift His finger in anyway many times. They suffer and then they die.
Have I just dishonored the Most High? Or have I spoken the truth? “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 55:8)
God’s design was to create Lucifer with the full foreknowledge that sin would enter into the world, and that untold suffering and pain would happen because of that, this is a truth. This is the God we serve, and if you have only been contemplating the God of love, then you are not fully aware of who you say you love.
The Almighty does not act on behalf of many people, He allows and does nothing when pain and troubles come upon people, He watches as pets and animals are mistreated and abused as laboratory experiments, and does not move to stop this, He sees what is happening to those small children down the street, unspeakable horrors, and does not hinder this one bit. God allows evil, He allows pain, He allows all this and more, and has for thousands of years, and does not immediately destroy those that do so.
“Oh,” you say, “But they will suffer for eternity, they will be cast into eternal darkness.” Yes, they will, and I will rejoice that day, for they will reap what they have sown, but that does not alter the facts, does it, God many times allows evil and does little to absolutely nothing about it.
Right now it is happening untold numbers of times across this planet, it always has. If these terrible events bother us, if these inconceivable acts of atrocity bring us to great anger, then how do you suppose God feels about them, and if He also is angry, why does He not act? Why is this prevalent idea that hell will be their reward in our mind, that patience while we witness those things over and over in our lives is supposed to be enough for us to simply say, “Thy will be done?”
How are we to interpret James 4:17, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” when the Creator of all that is does nothing in some circumstances in the light of six thousand years of suffering and pain? Is He not held to the same standard as that which He has set for us?
Is it enough to say that hell awaits them while they continue to inflict horrible atrocities upon billions of people and untold numbers of the animals He has created, in fact, upon all of His creation? The God we serve allows evil, and many times does nothing to hinder it, much less stop it.
You need to come to grips with these truths, for they are indeed facts.
I am going to offer you one last statement here, and I mean it in no disrespect to Him that rules over all that is, but it is a viable statement, and you need to test your faith against it. “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations” is what the Lord has the sovereign right to say to us, do we have the right to say, “Where were you when I was being abused, when I was suffering, when I witnessed that act of pure evil?”
He saw that and did nothing.
