“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)
If you want to be ridiculed, go to any YouTube video and place Matthew 24:6, “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” on one that is offering information about war.
Put in the comment section Luke 21:11, “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” on ones offering videos of earthquakes.
“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,” 2nd Timothy 3:2 on any that reveal the foolishness of such actions.
It really is not that difficult to be hated by the world, nearly every social media site that has a comment section offers the opportunity to place a Scripture verse that is relevant to the subject matter.
“Keep your opinions to yourself,” “Go back to the dark ages,” “God is dead, and you’re an idiot.”
It is quite easy to be hated by the world, just reveal the truth to them and they will begin to hurl insults your way.
Stoney hearts can be broken my friends, hearts turned into flesh can absorb almost anything if it is done solely for the Lord Jesus Christ.
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)
Of course, once they revile you, you must be able to discern if further conversation is required, or if the pearls of God are not to be cast before them any longer, for Satan’s emissaries are quite adept at what they do, and some of them obtain great pleasure in regaling His Word.
Their soul’s matter to us, we do not place His Word on these sites to draw attention to ourselves, but to the Lord Jesus Christ, we try to help them see that life is short, much shorter than what they will admit to themselves. But you also must consider this, they actually believe their statements, their opinions and words they place on those sites matter, pride will not let them believe otherwise.
“For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.” (Matt. 27:18)
The battle was to get Pilate to believe their side of the story, and they lied, cajoled and did everything possible to retain their authority over the people.
“But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.” (John 19:15)
Even to the point of willingly submitting themselves to the master’s they hated.
While those who will oppose you and the verses you offer fill themselves with pride, they willingly serve their master, our adversary, and so the words you offer, along with the Scripture verses, must be carefully considered. You are not trying to get them to hate you, but to see the truth. Context matters, and the Holy Spirit will guide you in this, the right words, the proper verses, context matters. But they will do all they can to draw you away from the initial topic.
I have found it helpful to go back occasionally and look at their initial comment, the one that caused you to respond, it helps to keep the subject matter and the ensuing conversation on topic.
Most of them will simply quit responding when they realize you cannot be swayed, you must be able to discern when it is time to move on. But I offer you an old saying that is applicable here, “If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.”
They will hate you my friends, they will spew venomous poison your way, and they have no problem whatsoever hurling that at our Lord either. You have to be able to let it slide, you cannot allow your emotions to get the better of you.
They are on the wide path to hell, and if you are going to stand in their way, they will do all they can to move you. You cannot be moved, but you must know when to step aside and let them go.
