When God Hates

Does God hate evil, sin or sinners? Evil, can it exist without sin, open rebellion against the Almighty? Is sin always performed with evil at its intent?

The ones who will live the entirety of their lives unrepentant, and die in their sins, does the Most High hate them today, or does His hate only come upon them the moment after they die and are placed in hell?

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)

Does the wrath of God that abides upon people today, those who refuse to acknowledge Him as Sovereign, who refuse to repent, even those whom He has given over to a reprobate mind in this life, does God hate them?

Every person ever born is blessed with the free will to make a decision either for or against the Lord our God, but once that decision is finalized in their mind, once the Lord Jesus Christ stops knocking on the door of their heart and the Holy Spirit no longer attempts to reveal to them the error of their decision, does the Lord at that moment hate them, or still love them?

Everyone in heaven will experience throughout all eternity the love of the Most High, everyone in hell that will be cast into the Lake of Fire will be hated forever. Is that true? Wrath, anger, vengeance from the Lord, can they or are they poured out without hate?

“But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.” (Rev. 2:6)

“And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.” (Mal. 1:3)

The Almighty does indeed hate some people, their actions, words and deeds have caused Him to do so, it is not the way of the Lord that many who profess to serve Him care to think about Him, but nevertheless it is truth.

“Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.” (Amos 5:15)

We are commanded to do the same.

But in the last few decades a lie has been perpetrated against the assembly of believers, and it has become almost impossible to reveal to them that lie, that we are to hate the sin but love the sinner. Therefore, everything written to you in this short letter up to this point is a valid question, does the Almighty hate the sin of the sinner, or does He hate the person committing the sin? And when does that hatred begin?

The sins of the unrepentant are not cast into hell, the sinner is.

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” (1st John 4:16)

This statement is a truth, those who have been born again, who are hid in Christ will be eternally loved by the Almighty, even though we still sin, for there is no condemnation upon us.

This is not a question for you to contemplate, it is a truth, God hates the one who has denied His offering of salvation, those who hate the name of His precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, His wrath abides on them, and He will hate them so much throughout all of eternity that He is going to leave them in the Lake of Fire forever.

Thus is the price of despising the shed blood of the Lamb of God.

You can hold out hope for some of those you know if you want to, and perhaps to some degree you should, but prepare your heart today for the truths written here. There are some people you love that God hates.

I leave you with the only verse of hope that comes to mind at the moment.

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16b)
