What And How

The question is not “What’s next,” for that would mean something first has been accomplished, the question is “What.”

The next question would need to be “How?”

The answer you will receive will be,  “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Zech. 4:6b)

The basics, if you like, are in the Scriptures, we are commanded to go out into all the world, we are to love our enemies, pray for each other, bear each other’s burdens, these are what we could call our marching orders, we are to put on the whole armor of God and join in the battle. But recall here Luke 17:10,

“So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.”

So, there is apparently more, and to know what that more is you must ask the Lord that first question, “What.” What would you have me to do?

Your eyes must be wide open and your ears attentive from the moment you ask for this, for the ways of the Lord are mysterious and if you have a burning desire to glorify His name, not only will your eyes and ears be open, but your soul, your mind, your heart will begin to listen intently for His voice.

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33)

Because of my extremely poor memory I cannot recall the exact moment I heard the words “Letters of Truth,” but I do know that I tested the Spirits as we are commanded to, and when I did a search of the entire internet and found that not one reference to those three words was in use by anyone, I began this journey.

But not until in much prayer did I ask the question of “How?”

If you are an empty vessel that wants to be filled, if for you the truth of Philippians 1:21 is a reality, then perhaps it is time for you to ask that first question of “What.”

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

I personally believe that something must happen in your life first though, I believe you must become not only extremely frustrated with this world, hating it in fact, but you must, for lack of a better phrase, find that place inside of you that feels useless to the service of the Most High, and ask Him to do something about it.

You must want to be filled to overflowing.

I have mentioned this before, but it bears repeating here, I reached that point about four years ago now, after being born-again for almost forty years. I pulled off the side of the road and yelled up at the sky, seeing His throne in my mind and yelled “Use me!” I had had enough, either do something with me or finish with me.

Today I live in a world of incredible frustrations, bordering on anger, and at the same time a joy that is unspeakable. He has shown me the path of life, He has given me all the oil I will ever need for my lamp to light my way.

If I am actually profitable or not only He can say, but I know that I can see the path clearly now.

“What,” what beyond the commandments given to me would you have me to do, and then, if your heart is truly set on His glory, the “How” will be answered for you.

This is who the Holy Spirit is seeking for.

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. (2nd Chron. 16:9a)

This is who He desires to bring His message to all that will listen, for this man will not turn back, he has put his hand to the plow and only death will release his grip.

Count the cost my friends, for everything in your life from that moment on will change. Some would call it a leap of faith, I see it as our duty, and so does the Almighty.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)
