“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
If you have absolutely no concerns whatsoever about your physical state, resting in the knowledge and truth that wherever you are in regards to it is where your Father in heaven wants you to be, and if you are positive, if you are without any doubts at all about the fact that you have truly been born-again, believing firmly and without question the truth of our opening verse, in the assurance of your eternal salvation, then tell me, what possible problems could you have?
Our adversary can do you no harm unless it is allowed by your Father in heaven, and thereby it comes from Him.
“Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.” (John 19:11)
Any and every sin that you will commit before you are taken home to His eternal Kingdom will be forgiven you.
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” (Psalm 51:17)
You will never know the wrath of God, in this life or in eternity.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)
You will meet very few Christians in this life my friends, you will meet many who profess His Holy name, but you will meet few who not only understand the truths of what is written here but live their lives in unspeakable joy.
The world, the wicked and many who claim to be servants of the Living God expect those who are born-again to be continuously happy, to always have a smile on their face and a cheerful nature, in fact, it is how they judge the truth of our lives. That is nothing less than forced attrition, a false face and demeanor and fulfills Galatians 1:10.
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
Putting on a show no matter our internal state or the eternal forces placed upon us, solely to convince others that those in Christ are perpetually happy, no matter what.
Do we enjoy trials, tribulations and persecutions? Is grief, sorrow and pain a companion we look forward to meeting, shall we feign happiness while we say, “Thy will be done?”
“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” (Eph. 4:26)
To say we have no problems when the physical pain is almost unbearable, when the grief nearly overwhelms us, when everything is going exactly the opposite of what we had hoped for, when the Almighty’s chastisement falls upon us is never pleasurable, but nothing, not one thing that ever happens in our lives can ever cause us to lose hope of the promises given to us.
We have been blessed with eternal life, and that life will not start when we walk through that strait gate into His Kingdom, it began the moment the Lord Jesus Christ removed your burden, the moment you got up from your knees at the cross.
My friends, we have no problems.
We do not use this grace as an advantage, we fully understand that we were saved by grace through faith, that no work we did or ever could do could ever be added to His sacrifice, much less accepted. In all humility we strive to fulfill 1st Peter 1:16.
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
There is no question in our minds that we can do nothing without Him, yet we can do all things through Him.
Others will see you as arrogant, as presupposing on the grace of the Lord, but we believe in the assurance of our salvation because He who has promised is faithful and true.
“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17:23)
Our assurance of eternal life does not rest in our love for Him who first loved us, it has no foundation of works, it rests in the Father’s love for His Son, and we are hid in Christ.
We have no problems.
