To Their Face

Without the information technology of today, information overload, if you like, we would be as our forefathers were not so long ago, waiting for someone to arrive, or sending someone to another place on the planet to gather information. The one who arrived with the news from distant places would need to be trustworthy, but no matter his character, the news would be old by the time it reached its intended audience.

Not so today, in an instant we can have the latest update from nearly anyplace on the planet, and before most individuals take the time to verify what they have heard or seen, before they take the time to research and dig for the truth, the next new item appears on their screen.

There are many individuals walking around on this planet who believe that they are saved because they repeated the words said to them, followed through with the ritual that they were told would ensure their place in the kingdom, or simply by some form of osmosis determined that they are now Christians. Those people have not only not searched the Scriptures, but they have not counted the cost. (Luke 14:28) They are for the most part quite easily recognizable by those who are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, for those that are not in the body of Christ are only deceiving themselves when it comes to their salvation. Because they repeated the words, because the priest told them so, because they were baptized or spoke in tongues, as some still call it, they believe that they are now children of the Most High, even the Pope came out a few weeks ago and said that all are children of God, so we’re all going to heaven now apparently. “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matt. 7:20)

Problem is, helping these individuals to understand just what is meant by these verses, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” (James 2:26) “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” (Gen. 15:6) is all but impossible. Their works generally revolve around emotions, at best their church attendance or efforts behind the doors of the church building are counted as the performance of their faith, in other words, a works-based system set up either by a cult, or if you prefer, a religious organization, or an emotion-based works system they have developed for themselves, relying completely upon the feelings of the day. It is a “Do more, get more” mentality, give more money, get more money, pray more often, get more prayers answered, do more works, get more rewards.

The system is simple to see through for those who have been blessed by the Lord with the ability to discern between good and evil. (1 Kings 3:9) How then do we know, how can we tell who our brothers and sisters in Christ are, by the fruits of the Spirit, (Gal. 5:22-23) but not just in actions, for actions are quite easy to fake in this area, or can be done by individuals who do not know Christ as Savior. Take Gandhi for instance, every fruit mentioned in the Scriptures, but you will not meet him in the kingdom. “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” (1 Sam. 16:7)

This subject matter seems to some too difficult to grasp, so instead of attempting to, instead of “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world,” (1 John 4:1) they have simply decided to place the names of “judgmental and contentious” upon those that do, upon those that question others about their walk, or supposed walk, with the Savior. They will say that it is not possible for another to know whether or not a person is truly saved, at least in reference to those who claim to be, and even show at times the fruits, yet there are many who have crept in unaware, (Jude 1:4) and that is the key word, unaware.

So then tell me my friends, if we are not being led by the Holy Spirit to question other individuals, exactly how are we to know if they are a part of the body or not, spend years watching them from the corner of our eye? Confronting another seems to be the problem, and our adversary has played this for all he can, for now in our day to confront another to their face is to be called confrontational, which of course has led to the enabled society, and the lie that truth is relative. You have to hand it to him, when it comes to lies, deception, and downright evil, he has no match.

The plan is working perfectly, make the lost believe they have value, eternal value to the Almighty, and get the Christians to turn into cowards for their faith. Who is at greater fault here in the eyes of the Lord, the one who has snuck in unaware and is deceiving the congregation, or the born-again believer who can see through the deception, yet does nothing about it.

We do not stand for Christ because of the promised rewards, we do not labor so that we can experience the pleasures forever more that we are promised in Psalm 16:11, we do so because we love Him who first loved us, (1 John 4:19) because He gave all when He did not have to for us. It is time to make a decision about who you are standing for and why, and it should not matter if the whole world turns against you when you do or not.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
