Time to Serve

Somewhere in your house there is probably a spider, maybe a cockroach or an ant, a fly perhaps, somewhere in every single commercial, industrial, residential, every building on this planet there is at least one bug. It matters not the structure, how often it is cleaned, fumigated, castle or simple house, they are there, one of Almighty God’s great and terrible army. “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.” (Prov. 6:6) He sent hornets ahead of Moses, (Exo. 23:28) His plagues upon Egypt were full of His army, they cannot be stopped when He sends them. These are some of the smallest, and they teach us a great lesson, little things can overcome great nations.

Abraham’s clan was the least as they became His children, Gideon, the Scriptures are full of those who were the least in the eyes of others. He has chosen the foolishness of preaching to call men unto Him, “For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.” (2 Cor. 13:9) God loves to use the underdog. I have always envisioned Samson just the opposite of how many portray him, I see him as a small, rather scrawny individual, not a large powerful man by any means. Look how the Israelites were expecting their Messiah to arrive, full of power and great authority, an iron fist, not a healing hand.

We take too much upon ourselves, we attempt more than what we are able to perform, “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” (Luke 14:11) Submission to the will of God is the key, as it were, to the Christian life, never desiring to lead, but often finding ourselves in that position, living a life of quiet servitude until the moment we are commanded to shout from the rooftop. We are in a sense God’s great army, the born-again believer is indeed the least of the species of man, do not be deceived here, the religious organizations are nothing less than cults, many there are that profess His name only with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him, and the average person who simply believes in God and attempts to live a “good life” unless the Lord is merciful to them will die in their sins.

Like these small creatures, believers go about their business of humbling serving the Lord each day however He has called them to, but for each of us a different day arises occasionally, a day we are blessed to lead someone to the cross, a day when we are called out of the sheepfold to do more. The days are evil my friends, Almighty God is calling out a people who will stand for His name no matter the consequences, we may be the smallest, but we have the Greatest leading us.

The time to hesitate is over, it is time to prepare, it is time to stand. Each of us are on the same path, the path that leads to the narrow gate, (Matt. 7:14) but each will bear his own cross, the responsibility will be different for each, but the goal and the reward are the same, Jesus Christ Himself. Some will suffer horribly, physically, mentally, but all must remain strong in their resolve, the season has come to hold fast to what we believe. “But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.” (Acts 5:39) When the Lord sends an angel to perform a task, nothing can stop him for long, even when they have to call for back-up, (Dan. 10:13) when He sends His great and terrible army, no man can stand against it, and when He sends one of His children to perform a deed in His name you may rest assured that deed will be done.

I do not know how you or I may be called to serve before we go home, whether it be by death of the flesh or the rapture is immaterial, the glory of the Holy name of our Lord should be our only desire, but know this, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) The time of lack of confidence is over, the time to serve is upon us.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
