Who are “They” anyway? Who is running the majority of social media across the planet, who is in charge of what “They” want people to think, how they want them to react and interact with each other, who is making the decisions?
If you have been saved by the grace of God, then you know that at the top of the pile, so to speak, Satan is the leader, he is the god of this world. (2 Cor. 4:4) Beneath him are a number of demons, devils if you prefer, a finite but perhaps very large amount of angels who rebelled against the Lord, and failed in that attempt. These are, in part, the principalities and powers spoken of in Ephesians 6:12, but not all, men, in their willful disobedience to the will and Word of God, are included in this group.
So then, in essence, the “They” are both of the spiritual and natural, earthly realm, they are both devil and man. We see the earthly man, but we fight against both, or perhaps I should say we are supposed to be engaged in this battle, for the fear of the Lord is reverential trust and a hatred of evil, and “They” are evil.
Certain men, I will not say how many, or who they are, are deliberately attempting to take over as the heads, or leaders, of this entire planet, it is being called globalization, a new world order, and as far as they know each of them will rule over a certain part of the planet, the Word of God says that when the dust clears, so to speak, there will be only ten nations left, each with one king ruling over it. There are perhaps ten people on this planet alive right now who will be these kings, but not until much more has come to pass, great upheaval and much death will probably occur first.
“They” have been planning this for a very long time, but the events leading up to these moments are not ordered by the rise of certain men, or even by the power and strength of our adversary, but by the will of the Lord God. “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.” (Dan. 4:17)
The falling away (2 Thess. 2:3) is, in its own way, allowing the rise of sin today, God is removing His hand of mercy upon the planet, and placing His strong arm of judgment upon it. All is in the spiritual, the marriage feast is in preparation, the church, those who have been crucified with Christ will be removed, (1 Thess. 4:17) and the seven years of tribulation will begin. Satan can do no more than what he is allowed, and in many cases only within a particular time frame, this much is self-evident in the opening verses of the Book of Job, but he is not simply waiting on the sidelines for God to give him the clearance to move forward in other areas.
I personally believe that he can in no way tell the future, not one second more than we humans can, but he is brilliant beyond compare, he is the epitome of the words calculating, reasoning and foresight, and he has analytically deduced the entire Word of God in every area.
Whether he is completely insane or not is the subject of another letter.
He prepares, down to the smallest detail, he has studied human beings for approximately six thousand years, he knows us better than we know ourselves, we are not a challenge to him, we are simply the means to an end. He will move when he is allowed to, not when his timing desires it.
The purpose of this poorly written letter is this, and it is not only simple in the extreme, but should fill the child of God with inexpressible hope, God is in control, He always has been, He always will be. Not a single blade of grass moves on this planet unless the Almighty allows it to. The days are evil indeed, (Eph. 5:16) but they should bring no cause for alarm, in fact, you should have been expecting them. “They” will be in power, so to speak, for only a very short time, we will live and reign with Christ throughout all eternity.
While “They,” human and devils alike, suffer pain incomprehensible for all time, we will know perfect joy and peace in the presence of the Lord. You may stand in courage, without fear, if you have been born-again. “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37) Anything else is the denying of the Sovereignty of God.
