“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor. 2:14)
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” (2 Thess. 2:11)
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” (1 Tim. 4:1)
In matters of Spiritual discernment, only the Lord can offer us the truth, it is His Book, He wrote it, and He decides to whom He will give the knowledge of the truth from it. I believe I can assuredly say that there are few in the age of man that He has done this for, for if that were not true, then every different religious organization, every church member, every person who has ever read the Scriptures would all know the truth and be in agreement with each other on every word. But that is not the way it is or has ever been.
I contend for the truths of the Word of God mainly on social media on a daily basis, and it is time for me to admit what I always believed as the truth about most people, they are not only not Spiritually discerning about the Scriptures, but they are deceived, and most of them willingly. “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” (Prov. 9:9)
It is rare to converse with an individual that is willing to admit that they are wrong in their interpretations of the Scriptures, most of them do not want to grow in the knowledge of the Lord, but prefer to be right, even when the Word, taken in context, proves them to be wrong. In part it may be because of 2 Timothy 3:13, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” but it also may be that the Lord has begun in part, to employ, if you will, that second verse in this short letter, the strong delusions have begun. I cannot say for sure, and I will not conjecture if this is the truth of these days or not, perhaps as the hedges are being lowered, the ability of Satan to act on and in this matter has been increased, perhaps he is able to employ his dark art of deception on even a greater scale, or in a manner that is able to influence to a greater degree more people.
In either case, few desire to learn the truth, more are being deceived, and those quite easily.
If you are one of the elect, chosen by God to be one of His own, then you will not be deceived, this verse makes this quite clear, and so then by default we must say that the elect will not only be able to see the lies and deceptions, but will know the truth. I caution you here though, this is where pride will attempt to gain a foothold in your life, and you may, if you are not in constant prayer to the Lord, find yourself a part of our third verse offered, departing from the faith.
There are more men standing behind the pulpits today attempting to tickle the itchy ears of those in the pews than there are those saying, “Thus saith the Lord,” this also is a truth that has easily been noticed over the last few decades by those whom the Lord has blessed with ears to hear and eyes to see. The wise man does not only see the pitfalls and traps, be he recognizes the slippery slope. “The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.” (Prov. 21:12)
Satan does not just blind the eyes of some, but he places a veil, as it were, over their eyes so that truth can be mixed with lies, with diversions and deceits, these are those that will depart from the faith, for the foundation of their faith was not the Lord Jesus Christ.
A lack of Spiritual discernment with no desire to hear the truth when it is offered to them, a strong delusion, or at least the beginning of it, hedges being lowered, allow Satan to employ more of his damnable lies upon more individuals, men behind the pulpit not willing to stand for the truth, more concerned with the feelings of those in their congregations then with their growth, trust and faith in the Lord, and not only an acceptance of that which is a known sin, this inclusivity of all, but the enablement of it by not standing against it.
These my friends are the surest signs of the beginnings of sorrows, of the great apostacy, and I pray you have been shown the truth of these days.
