“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” (Matt. 3:7)
The concept of many people who profess Jesus Christ as Lord today is that the wrath of God is the approaching Tribulation period, that great and terrible day of the Lord, Jacob’s Troubles. Those in the day that John said those words did not know that the words of Jesus would come to pass, some in their lifetime, “And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” (Matt. 24:2)
What of those that Noah witnessed to for 120 years, before the wrath of God was revealed and all flesh that breathed air died, save for those in the ark. Consider this verse if you will, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)
When adverse conditions begin to affect a nation the words, “The wrath of God” begin to be heard far and wide, but my friends, the wrath of God is resting right now, today on every family member, everyone you love, every single person on this planet who has not believed in the Word of God that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Whether they are destitute and living on the street or own the finest house in town and are well respected by the community, the wrath of God rests upon them.
It is quite easy to get caught up, so to speak, in all the events that are occurring across the planet today, and for those who believe that soon the church, the body of Christ will be raptured, I concur, I wholeheartedly agree, but far too many are making that the main focus of their lives, thoughts of escape instead of the immediacy of that person right in front of you that the wrath of God is upon. I liken them to people in a burning building who know where the exist is, and run towards it, thinking only about their own safety, not searching the building while there is still time to find others that will die if they are not rescued.
My friends, if you truly have been born-again, then you are the true first responders.
The Lord has given much of mankind over to a reprobate mind, His judgement has fallen, iniquity is abounding, and the love of many is growing cold, and many who say they are Christians are doing little more than looking for the exit to save their own lives while the building begins to burn. “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.” (John 12:25)
It isn’t just necessary to tell them about what is approaching, it does little good to warn them of the days ahead, the days of wrath that are coming when the wrath of God is upon them this very day. And it is a grave sin for any who are saved to not speak these truths to them.
Those whom the Lord will call unto Himself during the Tribulation will not need to inform those they meet about the wrath of God upon the planet, it will be easily visible to all, it will avail little to say Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand, all alive will witness the horror of those days. Those alive then, as we are today and all those who have come before us will have the same message, “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31)
Take note of what is happening across the planet, warn others of the danger that is approaching, but stop looking for the exit, if you are truly born-again you will leave when it is time to leave, before the great and terrible day of the Lord. Our responsibility has not changed, the circumstances of the times that we live in are not to alter the message we have been given, that the wrath of God is abiding today, right now, on everyone who has not acknowledged that Jesus Christ is Lord.
