“When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.” (Prov. 29:16) It is God that places people in positions of authority over men, contrary to popular belief, your vote does not count. It is the lives of people individually that determines what type of person He places in the highest places, when we as a nation, no matter what nation it is, seek the face of God in all matters, when it is His strength and power that we find our guidance, then good men who are concerned with the welfare of the people are placed over us. The inverse is just as true, as men become more reprobate, as we begin to determine that the Almighty is not our first priority, then those who are wicked are placed over that nation.
Paul’s inference to how we are to respond to those in authority over us does not change whether they are good or wicked rulers, but to do wickedness because it is the “Law of the land” is not what he meant. Our relationship to Christ should never change, our obedience to every law of the nation, or world that we live in is not to be unquestioning, there are clear precepts given in the Word of God of what the born-again believer is to do in the circumstance of a wicked and perverse set of leaders. We are to stand for Christ. “If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.” (Prov. 29:12)
I would ask that you give pause to the extreme foolishness that is occurring in the world today, there are people in authority in the highest positions that will not recognize one simple fact, the majority, the greatest majority of their existence is not going to be on this earth, their lives will end. How foolish of any individual to believe that the power they wield here is going to be eternal power, such is the complete and total blindness of pride. The ruling order of the World Economic Forum states in their proposal on faith that one of the greatest detriments to the continuing elevation of man is the continuing ideology that this world is not to be compared as important to the next, that after this is not what any of us should be concerned with. It is of course most childish at its core, and should upset any Christ-centered individual, but perhaps not to the extent that you are thinking.
These men, like all those who set the same wicked standards before men that came before us, know what they are doing is against the Most High, and for some, that is exactly why they are doing it, hatred is an incredible motivator, just ask Satan. We know for a fact that our Redeemer lives, and that we will live with Him, we do not despise or look upon this world as an evil place that needs to be escaped from, but as a daily opportunity to reach others for Christ, to warn the wicked of the error of their ways, to inform them of the truth, the truth that they fear above all others, that they are going to die, and then be judged.
In my mind what these types of individuals that are in positions of authority over us now in this current wicked age and all those that have come before them, I see as a very small kitten attempting to stand before a pack of wolves, or a petulant small child jumping up and down while screaming “I am in control!” It is sad in the extreme. What is even sadder though is the amount of people that claim Christ as Lord that are fearful of them, those who are anxious and nervous about the evil days that are approaching, especially those who have determined to not warn others.
You cannot love your life and serve Christ, you cannot be crucified with Christ and have any concern about the direction that He has determined for your life, you are already dead, and your life is hid in Christ. (Col. 3:3) “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (Psalm 118:6) There is a type of defeatist mentality that is beginning to permeate a large part of the Christian community, one that is draining the faith of some of the faithful, one that is causing some to hide and not stand. These days of sorrows are just beginning, we are as Jeremiah was, we are the ones who have been given the message that the Age of Grace is coming to a close, that wickedness is going to rule, that evil is coming upon this world in a way that has never been witnessed before in the entire time of man. It matters little if you have been commanded to warn one or hundreds of millions, you are responsible to the task that has been set before you.
Just because we know the facts of what is now occurring does not mean that we have been defeated by them, in fact, just the opposite should be occurring in your life, the knowledge that our redemption draws nigh. (Luke 21:28) “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” (Prov. 8:13) So start hating, and not just in your mind, but with your words, stand as you should, and voice the truth, hate evil with all your soul, and not just the evil that inhabits the spiritual realm, but those people who have willingly decided to stand against the Most High, if you meet them, tell them the truth of what the Word of God says, tell them the truth of their end if they do not repent, show them the folly of their ways in the most concrete, evidential way, tell them that they are going to die.
And then tell them of the hope that is offered to them, show them the truth that they do not have to die twice. The fellowship of His suffering (Phil. 3:10) is being offered to us all, what will your answer be.
