The Two-Hundred Year Plan

I don’t meet many people who have made plans for two hundred years from today in fact, I can’t recall ever having a lengthy conversation with anyone on that topic. Long-term generally means a week or so into the future now, at best, though there are those that consider, at least in a financial way, or in matters of the corporate ladder, that may attempt to set goals years into the future, but for the most part I believe don’t most do much more planning than what is absolutely necessary, and that generally means paycheck to paycheck.

Past this life, at least in our knowledge of it, very little is known. “And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.” (Luke 19:17) This verse, and others similar to it, inform us that there is work to be done in the next life, praise and adoration, yes, but not continually for all eternity without ever doing anything else. When we return to this earth after the tribulation, the earth, to put it bluntly, is going to be a mess, billions of bodies, both of man and animal will be strewn across the planet, nearly every city will be completely decimated, the work of Satan, and the destruction that the Lord will bring upon the earth will leave this place unrecognizable.

Now, one cannot say for sure if you have been a construction worker, a planter of crops, or a builder of that which was destroyed, but what we have been faithful over here, if indeed we are given more responsibilities in those days, may be relative to what we have done in this life. Not the same, but relative. I don’t want to go too far down that road of conjecture, for the topic is this, are you making plans today for that tomorrow?

What the Lord is using you for here is more than likely related in some way in the manner that you will be used for His glory in the Millennial Period, one must remember that how much we make ourselves available to Him is how much we are used, but I do not believe that all we do here is for the benefit of His kingdom. There, and in that time forevermore, it will be. That good and faithful servant (Matt. 25:23) is the one that contemplates not only the Lord Jesus Christ, not only the Word of God, but also obeys His Word, and finds a way to implement it into his daily walk, he plans each day for not only that days tasks, but how he can be profitable to the kingdom of God far into the future. Much of our time is spent in reaching the lost and encouraging the brethren today, or at least it should be, and so our main focus is upon people.

It is difficult to envision any human being who does not in some way affect another human being in this life, whether it be in a positive or negative manner, all that has been wrought by mankind is based upon something to do with life, no matter what form it is in, every invention of man affects the life of something. There is one thing that will change in that thousand-year long period of time, the intentions, the building of things will all be to benefit life, not to destroy it.

Our plans for that time are completely in the hands of God, just because you really enjoy doing something here does not mean it will be what you will be doing then and there, what matters is that what you are doing glorifies God, and that, my friends, should be your enjoyment. So then, your plans for two hundred years from today? To be a profitable, willing and obedient servant of the Most High God for His glory, just like today. We’ll let Him work out the details from there.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
