The Strength of Words

What is approaching cannot be stopped, only escaped from.

I use this line quite often in my journeys into the land of YouTube, and it rarely elicits a positive response, if any at all, for it is accepted as the words of a crazy man, a deranged individual when others, when they do respond, say that I should seek professional help. Such is the life of one who searches in the dark, the one with the only light that can be seen by all (Matt. 5:16) is the one for some reason is rejected the most.

I usually forage in places where the lost are, occasionally going to a channel that has Christian overtones, but most generally where the lost, or wicked if you prefer, congregate. To put it mildly, one must possess a “thick skin,” for “And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation,” (2 Peter 3:4) can be said in many different ways, and with many derogatory attachments to it.

But that is where we have been commanded to go, and with all the social media outlets available today, there is no viable excuse for any Christian who has an internet connection to not be spreading the good news of Jesus Christ at least once a day.

If you are as my attractive wife is, with the blessings of a memory, and have memorized numerous verses from the Scriptures, then you will find that no matter the topic heading, no matter the subject being discussed, there is a verse for the occasion, every time. Now, if you have not studied to show yourself approved, (2 Tim. 2:15) this may seem difficult at first, but with the ability to call upon hundreds, if not tens of thousands of places on the web that have not only the entire Word of God available, but expositors as well, it can seem a less daunting task.

If one so desires, at least at the present time, one can remain almost completely anonymous, thereby relieving some of the “pressures” of reaching out to others for the glory of God, but in all reality, that should not make any difference. We will all give an account before God, (Romans 14:12) and the sooner you are willing to stand for Him, the sooner you can grow in His grace and mercy.

You will not come across many born-again brothers and sisters in Christ, although when you do, there is great rejoicing, but most of the time you will be mocked and ridiculed, and here again is the patience of the saints. (Rev. 14:12) Those we are searching for don’t want to be found, they enjoy it in the dark, no one can question their lifestyle if it never sees the light, and most have no intention of giving up those things that bring them happiness, but they are more than happy to inform you of your insanity. “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1 Cor. 1:18)

Only fools see the wisdom of the Almighty as foolishness, and so you must remember in these usually very short conversations that what you are attempting to tell them can only be Spiritually discerned.

Because, most generally, the timespan that you have to spend with them will be very short, perhaps only for a few sentences, you must be direct, to the point, and trusting every moment to the Holy Spirit to answer them. Here is why it’s not so easy for some as I have made it sound in this short letter, they will not let go, so to speak. They want to answer and respond in a way that glorifies God, but instead of just placing the proper Scripture verse in the proper place, they attempt to win them to Christ with their own words.

Above all, you must always remember, no matter how rude they may be, that this is another human being you are talking to, a living soul created by God Himself, you are a messenger, nothing more. The message is always Jesus Christ, and if you are truly saved by His grace through faith, then speaking about Him should be second nature to you. What you say may be the catalyst for changing the path of another human being’s life. Remember that.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
