The Reason For The Wicked

What is the purpose of the wicked, what earthly purpose do those who will die in their sins serve?

Name any industry, any business, any place that produces the needs or wants that human beings have and there you will find the wicked.

But not always the saved.

If those who will die in their sins never grew food, could we who have been saved by grace through faith grow enough to feed them all? If none of the unrighteous worked in any capacity whatsoever, could we provide all their needs?

No way, not even close.

“The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.” (Prov. 10:7)

Their purpose, not fully but in a very large way, is to provide for those who serve the Living God, I can see no other reason for their existence.

In eternity, the wrath of God will be poured out upon them forever, here, in this life, the same is happening, but in what manner or form I cannot say.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)

They are under condemnation, they have no idea of what true peace means, they are never content, they live in the fear of death, for they have no assurance of the promises of the Living God as we do. They run to and fro and always have.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

Maybe that is the wrath they are under here, a continuous searching for happiness, never knowing true joy, searching for pleasures, fulfillment, for a clear conscience and peace of mind. But I can honestly find no other reason for their existence here in this life than to serve, and that unknowingly, those who are hid in Christ.

Like a God-fearing pastor whose livelihood is provided by the funds of those in his congregation, the wicked work to provide the needs, in form, of us who have been born-again. Unless you grow and produce every morsel of food you eat, built your own house from the trees you cut down, made all your own clothing and worked by the sweat of your brow to provide for yourself, with no outside assistance from anyone else, then you have in your possession items produced by those who will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19)

One of the reasons the Lord left certain people in the land of Canaan was to teach the children of Israel to war. In part, the reason there are religious cults that teach a works-based salvation is so that those who have been saved by grace through faith will search the Scriptures for the truth of their salvation. We would not be persecuted in whatever manner the Almighty allows that persecution to come into our lives if there were no wicked people.

Consider here the purpose of Judas Iscariot.

I cannot make paper, and I have no idea how to make a pen, much less the ink to put in it, but I do not believe that I am going out on a limb here when I say that whoever did make them, and all involved in the production of even these few items, probably were not saved. Not every farmer, every carpenter, steel manufacturer serves the Lord Jesus Christ.

And if you were to attempt to purchase every single item you need or want only from companies that serve the Risen Lord, you would probably not have one percent of what you have today.

We are not beholden to them, whether they know it or not, whether they would ever admit it or not, the wicked are here to serve us. They always have.

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33)

Our needs will always be provided for us, by whom and how, and in what manner, is up to the Lord.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
