What most people do in this life is not going to matter in the long run, much less in an eternal perspective, but you cannot tell them that. Well, you can, but if they ever come to the realization of this truth, they will become despondent, and may begin to live even less of a life than they have now.
That is of course one of the reasons for the flu and vaccines, to offer people the idea that their personal responsibility can affect many others if they do not mask-up and social distance, the punishment is of course the lockdowns, the reward is the vaccine passport.
We need to feel needed, and we want a reward when we express the interest in the needs of others, when we help someone. We like to think of those needs as individualized, as personalize, inherent only to us, yet they are no different than our temptations, common to man. (1 Cor. 10:13) There are countless groups one can join which have individuals with the same needs, most are self-help organizations, for people want their needs met, or at least the desire abated for a while. Protesters gather together to stand against what they believe are the needs, even the rights of others, and there is no difficulty in finding a group of people who think the opposite of them, no matter what the cause is.
It is how Satan has always worked, produce in a single individual an imagined need, coerce that person in whatever way available to believe the need is real, and then let the ball start rolling, a nudge here, “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Gen. 3:1) A little push there, “Ye shall not surely die:” (Gen. 3:4) and proof through a lie that the desired need is indeed now vital, “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Gen. 3:5) Nothing new here.
It is quite easy to manipulate people, one must only know how to place the proper words in the proper order, it is not necessary to create the need, it lies dormant, for the most part, in every living soul, it only needs to be recognized, debated within the mind, and that want becomes a need. For that is what they truly are, wants. “The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” (Prov. 27:7)
If you will pay just a little attention, you will find that every want of mankind is emotion based, the flesh does not want food, water, and shelter, it needs it or it will perish, beyond that, all are wants, and the diversion in the garden of Eden was no different than the diversions today, get them to see that their wants will not be found in God. The greatest of those wants is of course the one to continue to exist, to not die, and the easiest manipulation of this emotion, this want, is to instill fear into the individual, which in turn will encapsulate all other movements in their lives.
Those who are protesting will disperse immediately and quickly if those they oppose begin to fire their weapons at them, some may return another day, but if they are shown that every time they attempt to do so, some of them will be killed, the general population will soon understand that they have only two needs, or wants if you prefer, to choose from, obey or die.
The Lord God gives every living soul the same choice, but He offers it in love instead, submit to His Sovereign Lordship, or face the second death of eternal separation from that love He offers. “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:16)
I would ask that you give pause here and contemplate something rather serious, the verse in Matthew 11:29, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” The Creator and Sustainer of all that is, the One who will judge the entire world, the Son of the Most High God, had a yoke, an instrument of bondage, meant to move the one wearing it in a certain direction. All men are in bondage to something, many have simply decided to call them needs, but nearly all of them are actually wants. Temporary, temporal in nature.
The yoke is upon all of us, whether it be as a slave to sin or a slave to Christ, one is there from the moment of your birth and will remain until the day you die, the other you must choose of your own free will to put on, you are the one that must decide if that is one of your needs.
