The Fear Of The Lord

We have little, and desire more. We have much and want the burdens of all we possess lessoned. We are satisfied only when we receive what we want, and then only for a relatively short period of time, and then more wants appear.

And our needs that are taken care of each day we take for granted.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” (James 1:5)

And when we ask for it solely for the glory of God, we receive wisdom, but it’s never enough.

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33)

And with that wisdom comes the truth of Ecclesiastes 1:18.

“For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.”

Those who have been born-again should be content with what we have been given, but truly we are not, and sadly what many want is more of the things of the world, and rarely the things of God.

Grief and sorrow arrive with wisdom, and the more wisdom one is blessed with, the more they increase.

To pray for and receive Spiritual discernment reveals the fallacies and lies of religious organizations that have corrupted the Word of the Almighty, blesses the one who prays for it with the ability to recognize worldly religions that do not follow the Lord Jesus Christ and are many times demonic in nature. Spiritual discernment brings the reality of John 15:18 into our lives.

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”

The man who prays diligently and often for a heart that can discern between good and evil will find that the world is nothing like what he once thought, or what many believe it to be, the proof of unrighteousness not only in individuals but in the path of the world will be revealed to him, along with the knowledge of those whose hearts are sincere in seeking the face of the Most High. His eyes will be opened, gradually, and he will know in the depth of his soul the truth of Matthew 5:6.

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

And he knows full well that thirst and hunger will never be abated until he reaches his Father’s eternal home.

Wisdom, Spiritual discernment and the blessing of being able to recognize the good from the evil bring with them a form of bondage, blessings received that arrive with grief and sorrow, that brings the hatred of the world upon us, that brings the loss of all we thought we once wanted, and a constant, unceasing battle with the flesh, the world and our adversary.

But there is one thing in this regard that we desire above all, truth.

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17)

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

That freedom my friends, can only arrive in the life of one whose faith in the Almighty is unswerving, who ends every prayer with “Thy will be done,” whose wants have become the will of God in their lives.

Without His truths revealed to us, we dare not move a muscle, we dare not open our mouths to speak, all our efforts will be in vain unless the Holy Spirit reveals the truths of the Word of God to us. We cannot be wrong when expounding upon His Word, and the thought of misinterpreting the Scriptures causes trembling and fear within us.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2nd Cor. 3:18)

Our Savior was not just wise, He is wisdom.

“But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” (1st Cor. 1:24)

The beginning of this path is not praying for wisdom my friends, that will avail you little, though your heart may be sincere in that desire, it is this.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Prov. 9:10)

The Sovereign Lord of all reality, of all creation, Holy, Righteous, Just and True. See Him as this first, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)
