The Father Of Lies

“When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44b)

There is one thing that is indisputable about the lies of our adversary; to be able to speak a lie, he must know the truth. If he wants to know the future, all he needs to do is read the Scriptures, and he has it perfectly memorized.

This supposed battle between good and evil does not exist, God is Sovereign, that means that He is in complete and total control over every aspect of His creation. There is good and there is evil, but when we are speaking of the Almighty in the context of these two opposing forces, there is no battle.

“And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” (Matt. 8:29)

No possible opportunity for an alternative ending, from “In the beginning” until “behold, I make all things new,” God knew, and he is not going to modify anything He has written down for us.

Satan’s one opportunity is to lie to those who will listen, and my friends, those who hear him do not need to know the truth to believe the lies. This is where you enter the picture.

“The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked:” (Prov. 21:12a)

Besides our own sinful nature, an enemy in itself, in ourselves, we only have one other enemy, and he is wiser in the ways of the world and the ways of mankind than either you or I could ever hope to be. You have one way to stand against his lies, and that is to pray to your Father in heaven to reveal truth to you, his truths and the lies that surround us in this life.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

We are moving fast forward towards the days of Jacob’s Troubles, if you are born-again, you will not be here to experience them, but there are some things that could hinder our ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ before we leave, and those lies would be step one.

What you see and hear must be tested, not only against the Scriptures, but against other resources, but you must be aware of who controls nearly every form of media these days. No matter how many references you search out concerning a particular subject, if you are not sure if it is truth or not, leave it be. Remember 2nd Thessalonians 2:2.

“That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”

One of the main reasons for this letter to you is this, you must remember who it is that you represent, and if you open your mouth to others about something that cannot be verified without doubt, then it is your Father in heaven that may be dishonored.

How many of you who agreed to lock the church doors, who put a mask on and even perhaps rolled up your sleeve now regret making those decisions?

Lies are useless when the truth is known, but the right lie at the right time meant to sway the emotions are a completely different thing. Here is Satan’s subtlety towards those who are hid in Christ. When he was speaking to Eve about what God had said to her, he knew exactly what God has said, and he also knew that Eve knew. What he did was lie in such a way that altered her emotional state.

She coveted.

This is where he attempts to deceive us, the lust of our flesh, our eyes and our latent pride can be difficult for him to sway within us, but if he can get us to alter our emotional state and we have not studied well the ways of our adversary, then that battle is halfway won for him. He lies, and unless you know the truth, you may be deceived.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2nd Tim. 2:15)

Keep your armor on all the time, pray without ceasing, stand in these evil days.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
