The Enabled Poor

“For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.” (John 12:8)

In case you were not aware of this, assisting the poor is an extremely profitable business venture, thousands of programs funded with hundreds of millions of dollars have made it so, so then, I have what will be considered by some of you a very contentious question for you to ponder.

Should those who have incurred debt be offered assistance in this regard?

I ask this because of a food truck I saw today in a large parking lot with dozens of vehicles lined up to receive the items offered, and from just my viewpoint, nearly every one of those vehicles looked as if payments were still being made on them.

“For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:” (James 2:2-3)

Do you believe that before those people in line receive the food offered that they need to state how much debt they have at the moment and why?

I told you it would be a contentious issue, didn’t I?

If being poor has been self-inflicted because of a vehicle payment, credit card debts for wants and other such impetuous expenditures, should those people be refused what they suppose they need, or should that food be given to any that ask? The question is, for all intents, meaningless, for neither you nor I am going to change this world in that regard, the truth of 1st Timothy 6:10 is always true.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

And the items one can purchase with it, and that, my friends, is temporary happiness.

I believe I have been shown, in a very small way, a truth in this matter, what people want beyond things, beyond security, even beyond the needed items for the continuation of their existence here, is hope, and hope is what our adversary is slowly over the last three or four years chipping away at. Watch any news program, go to any social media site and read or watch what most content creators, even some of those who have been born-again are offering to any that will listen, and you will see despair. Read in the comment sections the replies of those who have watched that video or read the article and you will see the same, the precursor to hopelessness, which is despair.

Satan is being allowed to cause this to happen for a singular purpose, to bring a sense of hope back, after he had destroyed nearly everything that we all take for granted, a sense of hope in the future.

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2nd Cor. 2:11)

Despair brings with it personal fear, and that fear is what he is counting on, right up to the edge of hopelessness. How else will the world wonder after him if he does not bring hope back, if he does not offer to replace in kind that which was lost by nearly all, if he does not fix what has been destroyed and give people what they want.

The antichrist will do Satan’s bidding, and when he is mortally wounded, Satan himself will enter into his body and call to be worshipped, just like what he wanted to do with the body of Moses.

And in a way, a way much larger than many can realize, it starts, in part, with giving people who will not be financially responsible for themselves free food for the asking.

I repeat the verse because it needs to be repeated here.

“And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” (Job 2:4)

There is a big difference between helping the poor and enabling them, I think you can see now which one our adversary has chosen.

This is not going to get better my friends, prepare yourselves accordingly.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
