“For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.” (Exo. 7:12)
What you need to contemplate here is that the magicians of Pharoah could perform the same deed that Moses could only do by the power of the Lord, they could turn sticks into snakes. The witch of Endor mentioned in 1 Samuel 28:7-25 was known as one who could do what most could not do before Samuel came back at her request to speak to King Saul. “Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.” (Acts 19:19) What was in those books that caused what could be considered unnatural things to happen?
There are more, many more accounts of either men being able to do what most men could not do, either of their own accord in ways that we cannot do today, or by the power of Satanic beings through them. Over time, these have been replaced with people who are proficient at sleight of hand, magicians who stand on the stage and perform feats of illusions, and what was once real is now considered superstition. “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.” (Acts 5:12)
And then it stopped.
Today here is how we are to live, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17) No magic tricks, no sticks to snakes, no blind men seeing by faith in Christ, no parting of the Red Sea, we are to live by faith, not sight. What is happening across the planet, all of those items that are being called the effects of climate change, are not signs directly from the Most High, they are sticks being turned into snakes, they are from Satan, the prince of the power of the air, the current god of this world. They are diversions and deceptions, and they are working quite well on those who refuse to live by faith.
Since Satan can do no more than he has been allowed to do, they are by default from the Lord, no different than the account of Job, Satan desired to attack that righteous man, but God would not allow it, until He lowered the hedge, twice. That is what is happening today, that is the truth behind the lie of climate change, and it is the perfect venue to usher in the Tribulation period.
Many there are that call Jesus Christ Lord that are not saved, few are truly the elect, and the elect are not easily deceived. Not by our own wisdom, but by the grace and mercy of the Lord, who by His Holy Spirit is showing us the truth of these days.
The judgment of God is on this planet, soon His wrath will be revealed, while we are still here our objective is to warn all who will listen, and that is done the same way that we witness for His glory to those we meet, one at a time. We have not been given a “final sign,” as it were, there is no place in the Scriptures that says some recognizable, singular event will occur and then the rapture will happen, remember, the just live by faith, not sight. “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2 Cor. 2:11)
There was a point where the magicians of Pharoah could no longer perform the deeds that the Lord used Moses to do, their tricks, if you will, only went so far. This is only conjecture on my part, but I wonder if Moses had a moment of doubt when those who served Pharoah turned their sticks into snakes also? Granted, Moses’ snake ate theirs, but they did what Moses thought only the Lord could do.
That is where we are, these supposed signs across the planet, floods, fires, earthquakes, extraordinary weather, the coming one world economy, all of them are no more than the hedges being lowered. “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matt. 24:24) If you are one of the elect, all this is quite clear to you, if not, you may not be living by faith.
