Two verses for you, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (James 1:22) Also, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
We have as it were a problem in these days, there is an abundance of information available, thanks in part to the internet, but no real way to disseminate just what the truth is, it has become subjective, relative to the hearers ideologies. In other words, because someone believes something to be the truth, to them that becomes truth.
Now, I now that some of you are thinking that the person in question here is probably deceived, not able to discern truth as objective, as dogmatic, unchangeable, but I offer you this, “Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.” (1st Cor. 8:13)
Paul knew, as many of us since him know, that, in the context, meat offered to idols was, to put it bluntly, ridiculous, for they were nothing but constructs of wood and stone, lifeless, unsubstantiated as anything in a Spiritual nature, but that weaker brother had yet to understand this truth, to him it still constituted a sin. Two questions now, was it a sin, and did God, if that man ate against his conscience, count it as a sin against Him?
There are people that were and still are being deceived by the supposed pandemic, by climate change, those who were born one sex but believe themselves to be another today. They are, as those who have been blessed with the truths of the Word of God know, deceived, yet they themselves know, without a doubt that what they believe is the truth. There are those who believe with all their heart that baptism is absolutely necessary for the salvation of their soul, and no words of truth that we offer them will alter that view they hold. The truth has not set them free.
I believe that Paul, if and when he met those who did not yet understand these principles, would spend as much time as necessary to expound upon them for their edification, I do not believe he would leave them in the lie, or lack of understanding of the truth. So then, how can we be doers of the Word unless the truth is revealed to us?
How many are trapped in the bondage of misinterpretation today, how many believe what is commonly called disinformation today? In heaven my friends all of us will be in agreement, we will all know the truth, and that truth will set us free forever from the deceptions, the misinterpretations, but today would be a good day to start searching diligently for the truth, for the lies are abounding as never before. False religions, false teachers, even false copies of the Word of God, disinformation is only lasting if it appears in a Spiritual context.
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” (Matt. 24:11) “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matt. 24:5)
And the verse you need to concentrate on? “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matt. 24:24)
Every single person on this planet is going to be deceived, but the elect of God.
You know where the truth can be found, I would highly suggest you not only stay in it every day, but pray that the truths in it would be revealed to you.
