The Choice to Love

From the least to the greatest, we will obey, from the weakest to the richest one, all will obey, “For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.” (Psalm 49:10)

The amount of power that some people attempt to amass will last no longer than their lives, even Satan who is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4) will one day completely obey the final and Sovereign authority of Almighty God. We are, to a degree given an option to obey while we yet live, the freedom to submit to the will of God is not a mandate, it is a choice, not so with our adversary.

Whatever the Lord says, no matter what it is, expect Satan to employ the opposite of it, to twist it, or to leave certain key words out of the Scriptures so as to corrupt their meaning. The case in point in our times is of course this supposed pandemic, we are to love each other from a specified distance, we are to smile behind a mask, soon we will be forced to show our love for our fellow man by showing our vaccination documentation, we are to obey. The consequences of not submitting to the will and Word of God, to not accepting and recognizing Jesus Christ as Lord in this life is eternal death. “Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.” (Prov. 24:1) The Lord, by His grace and mercy, asks for our love, our adversary will force obedience, for he cannot receive or accept the divine attribute of love, and he has employed many millions who will follow him.

Each day as we move toward the end of this age, will bring new restrictions on freedom of movement, on speech, on the possibility of any personal interest, and will be done in the name of love, love thy neighbor will mean doing what you are told, or there will be consequences, and of course, as time goes on, these consequences will become more severe. Love offered freely does not desire for a return on its investment, it is the love that we as believers give to our neighbor, any deviation from this path is sin, love given for the glory of God alone is the way of the Christian.

Far too many fell into the first trap almost a year ago now, they have been wearing the mask, they have stopped shaking hands, if someone needs a hug, well, “I love you, but I must obey my new master, it’s for the good of all.” The simple minded, those who are devoid of the wisdom offered by the Lord, were the first to fall, and the subtleties will not be diminishing my friends. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

We are to presume that everyone we meet, everything that we touch, every particle of air that we take into our lungs, even ourselves, to be polluted with the dreaded new virus, we are being forced to show love. Those who fear do not know the perfect love that casts out all fear, (1 John 4:18) those who fear still love their own lives, (James 4:4) those who fear will serve any master that promises them freedom, the new rules are clear, “You may do as you desire, as long as you do as I say.”

The blind are being led by the blind, they will both fall into the ditch, most of them will die in their sins and never know eternal love, they will obey in the short term, the vapor that is their life will come to an end, (James 4:14) and they will suffer regret for eternity because of the decisions they made here.

You do not have to love the Lord thy God, God forces nothing upon man in the area of virtue, this is the gift and burden of free will, but our adversary and those who follow him are not so. Obey or be punished, fear is the key, subtlety is the path of least resistance. I pray that the Lord will be merciful to you and those you love and open your eyes to the truth, I pray you will be blessed to be able to see the deceit and lies of our adversary, and if the Lord so desires, I pray you will be blessed with the courage to resist, and the patience to endure.
