The Balance

That they are inadequate, that they have lived a life of complete uselessness, of no value, that not one single act, deed or word that they have done in the entirety of their lives hold any eternal meaning whatsoever. That is what the lost hear, yet we sugar coat it in ways so that is not exactly what we say when we are speaking to them.

One must consider the path of the lost, those who have not called upon the name of the Lord for the salvation of their souls, for no matter how long you have been a child of God, at one time, you were like them.

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.” (Eph. 2:2)

“The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.” (Prov. 21:12)

“The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.” (Prov. 15:26)

“The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.” (Prov. 15:8)

So what purpose do they serve? They live a life that is displeasing to the Almighty, they do not honor or even recognize Him as Holy, Righteous and Sovereign, they are born, they experience life, and then they are cast into eternal darkness, forever without hope. Hell for a time, then the Lake of Fire. “What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction.” (Romans 9:22)

There is reason one, but I speak of their existence here on earth, the time they are allotted, what is their purpose here today? How much of the food you consume is grown and produced by God-fearing individuals, and how much by the lost, how many items in your possession, your clothes, your furniture, vehicle, name anything that was manufactured and you find that much of it was made by those who will spend eternity in eternal suffering, but how much by those you call your brothers and sisters in Christ?

In the wilderness manna fell from the sky and water came from the rock, their clothes did not wear out, “and their feet swelled not.” (Neh. 9:21) God provided, not the people of the lands around them, no external entity gave to them their daily needs, the Lord alone took care of all they needed. It’s difficult to plant a garden when you do not know when the pillar of fire is going to start moving. Without the lost, you would need to provide for yourself, so to speak, everything in your possession you would need to grow or make, forage, plant and produce. They are here for us; I can see no other reason for their existence. We are here for the Lord, we have one main reason for our existence, to glorify God. (1 Cor. 10:31)

That reason, that foundation that is to be our life spills over to all we meet, or it should, and in so doing we speak of His glory, His mercy, grace and love to the lost, but in all essence what we are saying to them is that if you do not accept and recognize Jesus Christ as the only path to the Sovereign Lord of all creation, if you do not willingly bow down to Him and call Him Master, you will suffer for all eternity. And that is what they should hear, for that is the truth, and every single soul in hell and heaven knows this truth as an indisputable fact.

As born-again believers, we balance love with fear, and it is indeed a balancing act that many err in. “Thus saith the Lord” seems to imply the fact of fear, “Jesus loves you” seems to be what many consider the more loving, subtle path these days. Shaking the dust off our feet, (Matt. 10:14) and casting pearls before swine, (Matt. 7:6) is not the path that many who profess the Lord have chosen these days, they want the lost to feel as if they have value, that their lives have meaning, and they have forsaken the words that should instill terror into the heart of a man.

The lost will burn forever, but there is an incredible love offered to them today, we are to fine tune our speech to offer both of these truths to them, and then leave the decision they will make up to them. Learn to speak in love, but with firm convictions of these truths.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
