That Dark Glass

Why the Lord does what He does is not always crystal clear to us, whether it be in our own lives or in the allowance of what occurs in the secular world. The forces of evil, both in the Spiritual realm and in the hearts of man are not allowed complete and total free will to do as they please, there are limitations placed upon all of His creation by Him.

“And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?” (Job 38:11)

I have often wondered why He said, “The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” (Gen. 6:13) when He knew that mankind would continue with a heart that is only evil continuously.

The man born blind, and left in that condition for almost four decades, solely so the glory of the Father could be revealed in the Son comes to mind, for it makes, in a small way, that glass we look through darkly now a little clearer if we consider these truths. That everything that happens on this planet, whether it be man or beast, the earth itself, or the way the wind is blowing today, is for the glory of the Living God.

We just can’t see why clearly today.

Faith in His promises, faith in the inerrancy of His written Word, faith in your heart, mind and soul is what causes us to see His ways clearer and accept them as He wills. Faith says I do not understand, but I will obey.

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Rev. 4:11)

We must be able to, by faith, understand that all the evil in the world is being allowed to exist by His will, that what happens in our lives that we have no control over is His will, and that all mankind, if we desire to do so, can live our lives against His will if we choose to.

Until you come to the realization that the Sovereign Lord of all creation has given mankind the free will to choose their own path in this life, you will never fully comprehend the depth of His love for us.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

We lay down our lives for Him and accept His will in not only our lives but in all that happens on this planet, because if we do not accept in faith, by faith, that His will is always being done, we charge God foolishly.

This is in part the foolishness of the wisdom of this world, it is the lie of Satan, that if God truly loved the world, He would not allow evil to exist, but at the same time would accept all of us as we are, He would offer unquestioning love to all at all times. And it is the lie that many who profess to serve Him have fallen under the spell of when they say we should never judge anyone, that all are accepted as they are, and can continue to exert their own free will and remain accepted.

Because God is love.

Those who are in darkness cannot see the light, and some, if not many, who are in the light refuse to admit that most will remain in that darkness throughout all eternity. It is why you will rarely hear a sermon about that thief on the other side of our Savior.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” (John 10:27)

Seeing through that dark glass a little clearer happens when we realize that no matter what it is, God’s will is being done, that those who have been born again are having their steps directed, and the wicked have been given over to a reprobate mind.

To be able to fully say, “Thy will be done,” one must accept these truths.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
