I must take the time to search through many major social media sites to ensure that I know what are the most relevant topics of the day, and then adjust my offering on those same sites to ensure I get as many views as possible, and I must endeavor myself everyday to this task.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
I must also consider that the end of my offering must contain a few relevant Scripture verses, how they relate to the news of the day, and then add my own take on how we are not to be like those in the account offered.
“Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.” (Prov. 23:3)
The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, His love, mercy and grace must of course also be offered, for there will be some viewing what I have posted who do not yet know Him as Lord and Savior, and so I must have at least a modicum of emotional connection with my audience, the ability to use the proper inflections within my words and voice, and to expose to them that which I believe to be within me as well.
“To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” (1st Cor. 9:22)
I must also remember to not use too large of words, not that my audience will all be simple minded or unlearned, but putting forth myself as too wise will be off-putting to many, and they may feel belittled because of my knowledge.
“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” (Romans 1:22)
Above all, I must remember that the ends justifies the means, and if it is necessary to continually bring the wickedness of this world into their view by revealing the most current, sought after newsworthy event to their ears and eyes so that they might hear the plan of salvation, then that is what I will do.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” (2nd Tim. 4:3)
And I will continue to tell myself that I am doing all this for the glory of God.
When you, my friends, find such an offering on any social media platform that professes to be serving the Lord Jesus Christ to the glory of God, and everything just written here for you is their modus operandi, their standard way of creating content, leave that channel.
If your pastor brings before you the same offerings each week, the world’s woes and troubles, the most relevant wickedness of this evil world first and then Christ, find another place to worship.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Heb. 11:6)
If you cannot find contentment, peace and joy, if you cannot find what you are looking for in Christ and Christ alone, you will never find what you are searching for. If you have not found written works by men of God who have come before us, men of God called by God for His glory by the power of the Holy Spirit, then begin to pray about that today. If you do not yet have the Spiritual discernment to understand the way of religious cults that deceive the masses with their works for salvation ideologies, if you do not yet fully comprehend the pride of mankind and their thoughts of being good enough to be accepted in the Kingdom of the Almighty, the wiles of the devil, the expected wickedness of this world, then seek the face of God for these things.
“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68)
Recognize not only those who are attempting to scratch your ears, but your own possible desire for them to be scratched.
