Standing On Our Knees

We speak of the fleece set out by Gideon, twice even, of how with only three hundred by the hand of the Almighty tens of thousands were killed, of the great victory wrought by the Living God through one of the Judges of Isreal.

But we do not speak of how he cut the heads off two of the kings and brought them back to two of the towns that denied him assistance while he chased the oppressors, one city he completely destroyed and killed those there, and the other he instructed with thorns and briars.

“But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.” (Mark 7:27)

Nor do we desire to hear of how our Savior took the time to make a whip before He went into the temple.

Only the good parts of the Scriptures, only those verses and sections that make us feel better about ourselves, that lift up the name of the Most High in eternal light and brilliance. Not clouds of darkness, thunders and wrath.

And so, what we have reaped are not men and women of God Almighty willing to stand in the evil day, but those who profess Him with their lips only, and then only in certain company.

“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, or thou shalt be persecuted and punished.”

This is the new mandate, offered by those in authority, accepted by those who live in fear. And the excuses they offer?

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” (1st John 4:8)

“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” (Matt. 7:1)

We hear of those brothers and sisters in Christ of ours persecuted, hunted down and killed for their testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we react after the fact, assisting them in love, in whatever manner of consolation and hope that we can. But we do not band together as soldiers of the cross, arm ourselves for battle, and go destroy those who would harm those who have been born-again.

There are no Gideons or Davids in the league of those who are hid in Christ, there is no standing army of born-again believers who have an armory and are prepared to go to the aid of those who are persecuted and killed by the enemies of the cross.

I ask this question of you then today and pray that you will contemplate it. Is there more to us who have been born-again in regard to what has been placed here than what is revealed in Matthew 5:44?

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

And I will ask this question as well, keeping in mind that Israel does not serve the Lord Jesus Christ, they refuse to see Him as who He is, the Lord’s Messiah. Why is it alright for Israel to defend herself, but when we witness religious cults who hate our Savior so much that they will kill all who follow Him we are not to go and destroy them?

“And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth.” (Judges 8:16)

How are we to stand in the evil day against evil men? Fall to our knees before them, accept whatever befalls us as from the hand of God? Does that sound like standing to you?

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev. 12:11)

Those who will serve the Lord Jesus Christ during the days of Jacob’s troubles, will they stand and fight, will they run and hide, or will they allow themselves to be captured with no form of retaliation?

Another letter for you that offers no answers, it is not my place to tell you what to do if these things falls upon you. I confess, perhaps to my own fault, the hindrance, in a sense of that word, of not being able to do more than offer prayers after the fact for my brothers and sisters in Christ who are hunted down and killed by evil men.

Of this, I will say no more.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
