The following three verses are in context with the subject matter presented, and are I believe offered in the correct order. Sadly, the third one is where we find ourselves at today.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2nd Tim. 2:15)
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1st John 4:1)
And “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” (2nd Tim. 4:3)
In love I offer truth to people, truths from the Word of God in relation to the topic at hand. Rarely these days is that truth accepted, rarely do those whom I offer these truths to take the time to do the research, test the Spirits and then respond appropriately. Not to what I have said, but what the Word of God says.
These days remind me much of Paul’s words to the Galatians.
“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?” (Gal. 3:1)
And I believe that word “bewitched” has lost none of its meaning or power.
I made a decision to not reply or make comments on any YouTube videos, save for the Borrowed Truths and Letters of Truth channels for three weeks, the frustration had begun to eat at my soul. It was time to take a break, but today, three weeks later, I made some comments, spiritually based, verses from the Word of God in context and relative to the subject matter of two different channels that I just happened to come across.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13)
After offering correction to one who was misinterpreting the Scriptures concerning the assurance of our salvation, I was firmly rebuked, mocked and ridiculed for revealing the truth that once we are saved, we are eternally saved.
“Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.” (Prov. 9:8)
On the second channel, after attempting to reveal to the content creator of that particular video, who was attempting to say that God loves everyone equally, that He hates no one, no matter what type of life they live, I was told that if I attempted to add comments to any of his videos, I would be blocked.
Sound doctrine my friends is not the truth that you profess, it is what the Word of God says, and if you attempt to expound upon His truths, even in love and correction, you will find few that desire their thoughts to be modified to the Living God’s thoughts.
The verse has become truth in our day.
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2nd Tim. 3:13)
I never “push the point” if I am not sure, truth is worth waiting for, it is worth searching for.
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Prov. 4:7)
I believe what struck me the most was the producer of the last video I commented on saying that open debate would not be tolerated on his channel. A closed mind my friends cannot be used by the Holy Spirit, a closed mind does not seek for truth, we are to be always open to listen and always in prayer to be able to hear that truth.
Itchy ears do not want to hear truth, they want to believe what they want to hear, and they have closed off that part of their mind that once could receive truth.
They will not endure sound doctrine.
If you are not hearing properly, you cannot act properly, if you are not willing to test the Spirits, you will easily be led astray. If you do not study the Word of God in great humility, with fervent prayers that His truth would be revealed to you, you will make up falsehoods, and call them truth.
The author of confusion holds great sway upon this planet today, lies abound, and the chaff are easily being deceived.
I have decided to forsake placing comments on YouTube channels, but not in the bearing of the burdens of my brothers and sisters in Christ.
