Skin For Skin

I do what I have been commanded to do, all those who have been born-again do what we have been commanded to do.

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matt. 7:20)

The proof of our salvation by grace through faith to the outside world are the works we perform for the glory of God by the words we say to others, by the way we live our lives, and how we meet each challenge that comes our way.

The response of those who profess to serve the Living God in the time of the supposed pandemic was indicative of a lack of faith in those who put the mask on and rolled up their sleeves, and for those who agreed to lock the church doors during that time, there is no other choice than to see within them either a lack of faith in the care of them by the Most High, or that they have only been professing Him with their lips the whole time.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1st John 4:18)

In my own personal opinion, not one man who stands behind the pulpit who followed willingly all the mandates of those days should ever be allowed to preach a sermon ever again on Philippians 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” They were, as all of us are, commanded to stand in the evil day, not to hide in fear, they were called to trust and obey, yet 2nd Timothy 3:13 became the truth in their lives instead.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

I have yet to hear of one who voted to lock their doors, to run and hide, to not offer the hand of fellowship repent in dust and ashes and stand before those who stood against that choice and ask for their forgiveness. I do not know how many now realize how deceived they were, fooled by the actions of our adversary, who have let the memory of those days simply fade away, hoping that it will not be brought up by any they meet, having excuses prepared and well-practiced if any think to converse with them about their fearful actions, their decision to run and hide.

The watchman on the wall warned them of the deceit that was approaching, but they chose fear, they chose compliance, they chose not to stand, but to run.

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” (Prov. 24:10)

There are many who no longer attend organized church services for this very reason, they did not see men of God standing in the day of adversity, they saw people believing the lies, they saw people who proclaimed faith running and hiding in fear, and the man of God who approaches them about this subject is thoroughly rebuked by them, he is no longer welcomed in that congregation.

I judge no one in this matter, if you were one who agreed with those actions that was your decision to do so, if you followed none of the mandates, I do not lift you up as better than those who were deceived.

This short letter to you opened with these words, “I do what I have been commanded to do.”

Who, or what, commanded those who put a mask on, rolled up their sleeves and locked those church doors, the Holy Spirit or a spirit of fear?

It matters not if you believe those days were nothing less than a precursor to Revelation 13:16, “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:” Or if you saw the threat as real, all that matters is who called you to react in the way you did?

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14)

How many stand behind the pulpits today thinking, “Better safe than sorry” when they recall that time, and how many are preparing a sermon on Job 2:4. “And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.”
