“And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.” (1st Kings 18:27)
In certain nations today speaking words such as these, words that might hurt someone’s feelings, is now considered an offense by those in authority, and will receive for the one speaking some form of punishment.
I am not so concerned with this part of our adversary’s plan as I am with this, the lack of men who are willing to speak truth, no matter the possible consequences to themselves.
The plan of despair will meet with two types of people, the rabbits and the wolves. Corner a rabbit and many times it will die from shear fear, corner a wolf, and you will find yourself in pain.
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matt. 10:16)
The plan of Satan through this ever-prevailing despair, is to trap and assimilate the weak, those who fear to speak against what is happening, and those who are agreeing with all his deceptions and lies will eventually find themselves in the same pen as the rabbits.
And my friends, he is no more concerned with the wolves, those people who when despair reaches a boiling point in their lives that do not cower and submit, but lash out, for he has many under his power that will obey without question.
We are witnessing part three, if you will, of the truth of 2nd Timothy 3:13.
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
Part one was the personal fear mingled with mandates of the supposed pandemic, all but forgotten now but by a few, those that are suffering because they rolled up their sleeves, and those that desire vengeance, retribution, accountability.
Part two folded into part one so deceptively that few saw it, love everyone no matter their lifestyle, no matter their choices in this life, and before almost anyone noticed it approaching, part three began.
No longer forced to love as before, but now live and let live, keep silent if you do not agree, or punishment will arrive in your life.
Combine this with economic distress and failing economies, wars and rumors of wars, and despair is the default natural reaction.
The rabbits will obey, the wolves will attack, and Martial Law will be imposed in many places.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (1st Peter 2:9)
Our adversary will win this battle, mankind will be deceived into nearly total subjugation, disapproval and disobedience will be dealt with harshly, for seven years.
This letter is for your information, but I would like to offer you an analogy of sorts, one that sets us as the peculiar people of the Living God. There are sheep, there are wolves, and there are sheepdogs.
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matt. 10:16)
Those that are wise as serpents are the sheepdogs, and I mean this in no offensive way whatsoever my friends, but many, if not most of our brothers and sisters in Christ are sheep, not sheepdogs.
Which category would you put Elijah in?
Sheepdogs do not attack unless the sheep are threatened, and not one of us is going to do anything unless we are positive it is the Almighty directing us to do so.
I do not know if Elijah was told beforehand by the Lord about what He was going to do, but I do know for a fact that man of God moved, and spoke, in faith that day.
“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7)
But recall also, our Lord was not totally silent that day, He knew when to speak and exactly what to say.
In a word my friends, pick your battles, make sure it is the Most High sending you, and then do as you have been sent to do.
The watchmen on the wall are sometimes also the sheepdogs.
