Seven Short Years

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4)

Those who spend much time looking for the return of the Lord to meet us in the clouds spend little time on those who will be left behind, or they will do the exact opposite, they will avail themselves to all that will listen. But there are still some who do not spend much time looking for His return, although it is always prevalent in their minds, nor do they use their time warning of the coming days of Jacob’s Trouble, but instead warn of eternal separation from the Living God.

Those who love the world are those we seek, those who live for self, who deny the truths of the Scriptures, that “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) The Lord has decided by the foolishness of preaching to warn of the eternal suffering of all who will not come to His Son for the salvation of their souls, but many who profess to know Him have instead decided to warn them of a short seven-year span of time that most of them will never see and many will not live through.

The foolishness of preaching could be no more foolish than to attempt to preach anything but Christ, yet portents of coming doom and the signs of impending suffering have taken His place in their words. Oh, some will end their sermon or video or even letters to you with a few sentences of words showing you the need to come to Christ, but the majority of their exhortations are concerned with the things of this world. And the saddest part is they do not even seem to realize it.

“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” (1st Cor. 2:2)

They go on week after week, sermon after sermon, video after video attempting to reveal to us how wickedly the wicked are behaving, or the latest “proof” of His imminent return, they scour the newsfeeds of the world to show us the evils of this day, expounding on the darkness that is covering the planet, and then offer you two or three minutes of the way of escape. But not on the glory of the Most High, not on lifting up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to the glory of God, not on humble service in adoration towards Him that saved us from eternal wrath and damnation.

Those things do not draw the crowd in, do they.

A special night of prayer and praise to the Most High, or a night focusing on the coming Tribulation, which one will ensure the pews are full, that the video will get more views?

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Psalm 34:8)

No, danger, doom and gloom, the coming Tribulation, the rapture of the saints, the wickedness of wicked people, that is what people want to hear and see, not how to live a holy, godly righteous life by the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God, not how to witness effectively of the price that was paid for all. Not on how to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Any and everything that brings an emotional response towards the approaching danger, of the wide path to hell that the world is on, of the “signs” of His return, that is what they want to hear.

Many want to escape, few want to warn others, and far too many that do warn are speaking only about a short, seven-year period of time, not of an eternity of hopelessness and eternal separation from the One they claim to serve.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
