The enabled society is beginning to break down, and much of society is being shown that the work that we have been employed in was not as essential as we once thought. This enablement has always been with us as a people, but it has been bastardized in ways that enroll within its lists those who, to a degree, are quite capable of fending for themselves.
The main hindrance of course is the ability of many to provide food and water for themselves without having to go to an outside source, it is not possible to grow enough daily food for yourself in an apartment building in the interior of a large metropolitan area. But this form of enablement is not what we speak of here today, it is those who are physically capable of work, but who choose for whatever reason not to do so, today we call them lazy, slothful is the word used in the Scriptures.
What the spiritual powers in high places (Eph. 6:12) are beginning is a form of forced enablement, they are removing any possibility of earning an income so that the necessities of life can be purchased, thus preparing society to become enabled by them, whether the individual chooses to or not. It is of course the plan, and always has been, for the whole world will only wonder after you (Rev. 13:3) if you are providing for them. Slothfulness is a man who has determined not just to live off of the kindness, or in most cases the subsidies provided to him by those in authority over him, but shows a man who has no care for others, whose only goal is self-existence without forward momentum or productivity of any kind. But it need not be likened to only those secular, materialistic base people, there are those who profess Christ who work diligently each and every day in the world that deserve the title slothful even more than those of the world that we have spoken of.
The man who will not study to show himself approved is slothful, the ones who claim Christ as Lord yet never reach out to a lost world, those who see their one hour or so a week obligation to the church they attend, these are slothful, and are seeking to be enabled just as much if not more than the growing masses who are either choosing or being forced into a world wide system where their freedoms are being taken away and replaced with a manufactured form of security.
The man of God does not fear these times, he fears standing before his Lord and giving an account, for the most profitable soul in the kingdom of heaven knows full well that not one step, not one thought, not one action could have been possible unless he had been enabled by the Lord God through the power of His Holy Spirit. Those in the world who are being forced against their will to enjoin into the enabled society will look to those who are forcing them for their provisions, it is a classic dependance occurrence of the kidnapped upon their kidnappers. Those who say they are Christians but do not serve Christ as Lord, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me,” (Matt. 15:8) they believe themselves to be what they are not, they search through their own vanities to be enabled by the Lord, the greatest kidnapper, if you will, that there is. “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Eze. 18:4)
Slothfulness, laziness is not befitting of an ambassador of the kingdom of God, He to whom all glory, honor, and praise is due will not look favorably upon those who are His chosen ones that do not fulfill their obligations to their Lord and Master. It is called the judgment seat my friends (2 Cor. 5:10) for a reason, it is where we will be judged for what we have done for the Lord, and you will only reap what you have sown. (Gal. 6:7) The lost will stand before the great white throne of judgment, judged then cast into eternal damnation, hopeless forever because they sought to be enabled by man.
Now is not the time to be lazy in the work of the Lord my brothers and sisters, no age ever has been, but we are preparing to witness the beginnings of Jacob’s troubles, (Jer. 30:7) and if we are not found profitable in the work that He has set before each of us, we will be seen as slothful, unprofitable. (Matt. 25:30) Do what has been placed before you to do, and do it with vigor and love for the Lord Jesus, it is our rightful duty, and a joy to be enabled by Him to serve.
