Borrowed Truths

Right Here, Right Now

I wonder, will the billions of people and one third of all the angels in the Lake of Fire be enough to appease the wrath of God for all eternity? Where was His wrath placed before He created the heavens and the earth, where did He exhibit His grace and mercy before He laid the foundations of the world?

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” (Psalm 90:2)

We have no idea if the Almighty has created a reality before this one we live in, if there are other sentient beings on planets light years away, or what awaits us in eternity, and my friends, we really do not need to know. Seeking first the Kingdom of God, setting our affections on things above, imagining the New Jerusalem, all these and more are ways within our minds, by faith, that we seek the face of God.

We spend millions of moments attempting to find what will one day be revealed to us fully, that dark glass will one day become clear to us.

This short letter to you today is about conjecture, about the proper place our minds should be in, about not only restraining the imaginations of our thoughts, but about focusing on what is important here. In a word, it is about Luke 21:19.

“In your patience possess ye your souls.”

I repeat myself here for your edification and reveal a lie of Satan and this world.

“Only those who are heavenly minded are of any earthly good.”

They say the opposite, that we are too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good, and unless you are reigning in those thoughts of what comes after the moment you walk through that strait gate, they might be correct.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2nd Peter 3:10)

It does little good to tell the unrepentant about what awaits them if they repent, or if they do not, to them it is no more than fanciful imaginations, wishful thinking, an unprovable hope or the dread of a possibility. We are to inform them of eternal love or eternal wrath, the reason for one and the offering of the other, of Him who paid the price in full.

Right here, right now, not what might have been before and what might come after.

“Behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2nd Cor. 6:2b)

The fear of eternal damnation or the reality of life eternal in His presence, both are true, but it is the truth of sin in their lives and the need to repent that is of the utmost importance. The way to one is by doing nothing, simply stay the course and hope for the best. The way to the other has been made clear.

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31)

Save your thoughts of eternity in the presence of the fulness of joy for yourself, speak of His wonders today, of times past, and of those yet to come with those whom you know are your brothers and sisters in Christ.

We search for the lost amongst the wicked, we offer them the words of the Living God about their need to repent, about their sin, about Him who paid the price in full. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts a man’s heart, our responsibility is to reveal the truths to them of why they need to call upon the Lord.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1st Cor. 2:9)

That verse only touches the depth of the hearts of those who have been saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Reveal their sin to them, in love, then reveal His love for them. Right here, right now, not where they might be or could be throughout eternity.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
