Rest For Your Soul

A clear, conscience decision not to do, and a willful, intentional directive of our mind to do so, always for the glory of God, never with any intention of bringing any attention towards ourselves.

Always with joy in our heart, giving thanksgiving and praise to His Holy name, never seeking our own will, save that our will would be His will.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” (Col. 3:23)

Until we come to the realization that God Almighty is Sovereign over all creation, and that He has determined in His infinite wisdom to give mankind free will, we will never be able to serve Him with a willing and open desire, we will either rebel in part that we are the clay and He the potter, or simply accept our place with indifference, and eventually despair or anger.

“Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?” (Romans 9:20)

Rebelling is what we call our lot in life, forcefully in our minds having to accept our limitations, it is why the heathen rage and begin to imagine vain things. Here is where foolish pride begins to gain a foothold. We will never be the very best at what we do, and if that is attained, it will be only momentary, fleeting, for another will take that position.

“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.” (Hosea 8:7)

To accept where the Most High has determined for us to be is to accept in all humility His will in our lives above our decision of where we would like to be.

Which is honored by the Lord the most, the man who would suppose himself to be a great Evangelist who draws many with his fanciful and well placed words, yet few souls heed those words and instead seek him instead of the Almighty, or the woman of God who realizes that her ministry is to raise up three small children in the way of the cross of Christ, forming them by His mercy into men and women of God?

A conscience decision not to do that which we know would be displeasing in His sight, and a willful, intentional desire to serve solely for the glory of the Most High, denying ourselves so that He would be exalted above the heavens.

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” (Col. 3:3)

Completely and totally against what this world teaches.

The wealthy and wise in this world, those who by whatever means have attained to positions of power and influence, these are held in high extreme by those of this world. The lowly and the poor, the average person, is looked upon as unprofitable, as unnecessary, with disdain.

In the minds of many, those who lead the largest churches, religious organizations with the most members must be closer to God, must have been chosen by the Most High for greater accomplishments, when in all truth, the simple man or woman of God who seeks for nothing for themselves but to continuously be in His will, whose lives are lived solely for the Lord Jesus Christ to the glory of God are those whose lives impact the lives of others the most.

“Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;” (Psalm 108:5)

Not to do those things that would displease or dishonor our Father in heaven and doing all we do by a direct and conscience decision of our free will to bring glory to His name, content in where He has placed us in this life. These are the men and women of God. In love, and always with a sincere heart saying, and meaning fully, “Thy will be done.”

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matt. 5:8)

Strive for this my friends, stop seeking your own, trust in His will for your life. Only there will you find rest for your soul.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
